I woke up on the grass with a kiss from the wind 

Caressing my face, carrying a familiar scent 

Under a tree I lay, as the sky above its leaves dimmed 

Across the field were flowers near the lake where my hat was once sent

"You found me," a gentle voice lightly chimed 

My heart throbbed as the tears in my eyes climbed 

My body froze like a lake in winter threatening to shatter at the slightest motion 

As his voice broke through all the walls I built around my emotion

"Have you been all right?" The voice gently asked 

Slowly. So, so, slowly, I turned my head to his direction 

It was then when all the grief in my heart went unmasked 

And all the weight on my shoulders fell as my tears flowed without restriction

"I see," he simply said 

He inched toward me, reaching over my shoulder 

To hold me, to hug me, and kiss my forehead 

But reality is cruel, I realized; the world can still be colder

"Ah," he exclaimed, "I forgot 

This is merely a moment in time" 

He smiled, "All the gods through your will were caught 

And afforded us this pocket of unlikely paradigm"
