"Please calm your heart," he pled 

"I would very much love to see your smile tonight 

It has been a while since we last shared bread 

And since I watched you walk down the aisle in white"

He tried to touch my face again 

But his body simply passed through mine with a shine 

And so my eyes cried out tears like the widow from back then 

Mourning all the years lost when our stars did not align

"I'm sorry," he said, eyes closed 

He tried to smile, "I miss you dearly 

There's nothing in this world I want the most 

Than to be with you again and see you live happily

"But I am way past my time and life went against our plans 

Still, you live on, taking each step at a time even with a heavy heart 

So please know I am most proud of you for taking this chance 

But you must go on, even if it means that we must grow apart"

His eyes looked sad yet so happy at the same time 

But tears from mine couldn't cease its endless streaming 

My heart aches in so much pain; my sorrow muted all chime 

For all I wanted was to touch him and bring back life's meaning

"Why can't I just will for all this to come true 

And ask the gods for more than just a moment in time?" 

I asked through my tears, though the answer I already knew 

But it isn't wrong to ask, anyway, even when there is no reason nor rhyme
