He faded along with the little fireflies in the field 

My God, there is no pain greater than having lost your love twice 

And so I cried and cried, on the grass I kneeled 

And in my hands my heart I wield until my crying sufficed

The moon is high up in the skies now 

I must seem like a fairy with her wings cut off 

I close my eyes and whisper as my voice would allow 

"Thank you for finding me. I shall now take off."

When I stood to set off and go my way 

Like magic, a rainbow formed above the lake by the flowers 

Little flickers told me they were the fireflies who came today 

And helped us mend this mighty little love of ours

They swirled me as their tiny pushes urged me to go forward 

I laughed and smiled, "Yes, yes, I shall move onward" 

Rainbow fireflies fluttered about, lighting up my way through the night 

"You are here," I realized as I followed your light

I am on the verge of tears again, but this time, not out of sorrow 

My tears now are of happiness and hope 

As I felt once again that I am not alone, my heart no longer hollow 

Your heart beats in mine, as do the fireflies in scope

"Yes, my love," I smiled, "I promise 

That my tears will no longer flow in grief for you 

And that my heart shall only smile when I reminisce 

So please wait for me," I said as fireflies take me into the blue
