Tell Me Your Story

Since the concept of time was not present in this space, I didn't have to eat or sleep at all. But as a normal human, living like that was nothing but a road to insanity, so I asked Room to give me a timer and a whiteboard to put my daily routine on which included my sleeping time and showering time. Yes, we had a shower but I didn't know where the water came from and where it went after entering the drain.

*Ring* *Ring*

The timer indicated the end of my mana control session, next was my break time. My progress in mana control went smoothly, was what I want to say but if I could make any huge leap in just a week, this technique should already be the normal way of magic training.

For now, I could take some of the mana dust out of my mana core without it crumbling. While I could move the dust, it couldn't leave my stomach area. Maybe there was a path they could pass through to reach another area and I just didn't find it yet because just moving the dust around my mana core already drained my mental energy. The book said I need to be able to move mana through the body freely before I could continue. Such a long way to go, at least I could build a tiny sand art with the mana dust in my mind.

While walking to the refrigerator to grab some cola, I felt a present nearby but the furniture didn't disappear like usual, what happened?

"Hey, how're you doing?"

White was sitting on the sofa behind me waving his hand and greeting me. Did I have to interview you this time? I hoped not.

"Great! I'm learning mana control right now. How can I help you, White?"

I said that as I walked back to my desk with my cola in hand. Was he not satisfied with the story I collected so far? Or maybe something else?

"No worries, I just came here to see how you're doing since you just finished an interesting story."

"You mean the unfinished story. Yeah, what's up with that? There's no explanation written in the instructions manual at all."

"Of course, we couldn't include things we didn't know in the manual, right? And we're happy to see this result so fast. There might be some complaints from others but I can deal with them myself."

Others? Did he mean other gods and deities? Interesting but sounded too troublesome to get into, so I would leave them to White to deal with.

"Since you're here, White. Mind to give me some pointers about magic?"

"No. That's not in the contract."

"Stingy. Can you at least show me some brilliant magic?"

"And give you more mana particles to work with? I don't think so. Just play with what you have right now and take it slow. Your progress was already faster than most geniuses in this world since you have high mental fortitude and a tiny amount of mana. More mana than this would be too hard for you anyway and you should try until you can spread all the mana you have to cover your limbs before you collect more… whoops, I just give some pointers, ain't I?"

White acted surprised with his hands covering his mouth. Who did you try to fool? This sly fox tried to get something from me.

"What do you want in return?"

Since you already told me all that, he wouldn't just leave me be, right? Yep, he was smiling right now.

"Nothing much, just a little favor."

—

"Am I even allowed to do that?"

White's little flavor was everything but little, it not just broke the initial agreement we had, it also had a risk involving my safety.

"Don't worry, since everyone agrees on this because of your unique traits, which is absolutely impossible otherwise. This would be the only time we can tolerate it."

"Okay, so what color would it be this time? And I would like to give whoever that is some warning before they come."

"That won't be necessary. Those guys are cowards, unlike me! The one who came is one of their puppets. They were the residents of this world, so if you want you can record their story too."

Despite the lack of the eyes, somehow I could see White's winking and it was creepy.

"So, will it be a normal being? I thought you knew the details of my traits. Didn't you warn them about that?"

"Why would I? People might group us together, but that doesn't mean we're on a good term. We just have a similar goal that's why we work together now. But dangering one of their toys won't concern me at all."

"Whatever. That isn't my business either, bring them in."

As White snapped his finger a dozen doors appeared behind him. That was more than I thought! I hoped no conflict would happen in my office.

"Welcome everyone to my partner's Room~"

With his joyful mood, White spreaded his arms and talked to the people who entered through the doors.

Since this wasn't my duty, I had no reason to wear a mask and show my displeasure in plain sight. Everyone came in and looked at me in the eyes before moving their focus all over the room. There were twelve of them. Should I start?

"Hello"

*Silent*

Yep, no one seemed to care about my existence and focused on the Room instead. I looked at White but he just moved to the side and acted like he wasn't here. Sign~

"Where did you learn about manners? I don't need your name but couldn't you greet me back! Now, Hello!"

*Hello*

Twelve of them answered in unison before looking at each other with confusion on their faces. Now, their focus should be on me.

"You guys were sent here to test me, right? At first, I thought there were going to be less people than this. But with this number, I will only accept one question from each of you. Now, form a line and start asking."

I have no idea who they are, but they looked either strong or important. They should be some kind of big figures in this world and that was confirmed by White's holding himself from laughing.

When he came to his sense, he already made a contract with that being.

His job was to write the story about anything he met.

What sort of people would he meet? What kind of story would they bring to him?

"So, tell me your story" - He said as his next target walked into the room.

At least, he was nothing but the watcher. No danger would come, right?
