Bad Deeds

5. The Inns Hotel

5. The Inns Hotel

Jul 18, 2023

GASP!

I was amazed to see the beauty of this Hotel just outside our room. I mean our room did have the fancy antique-looking beds and furniture but this was something else. Or maybe I didn't pay too much attention? I don't know.

Just outside our door was a spacious, polished floor made of marble that led to a stairway. The stairway was not an open normal looking stairway - it had a room of its own. Its entrance started with pillars and walls made of marble with yellow lamps lighting the way.

I took in everything in awe. The theme and the architecture set you up in a historic story-like mode.

Mont eyed everything with fascination as Hans him and talked.

As we walked through the hallways, I noticed the big and small paintings that hung on the walls. Most paintings were different buildings with golden tags labelling their names and year of what I'm guessing is the historical significance of it. The artwork looked decades older. However, there were some buildings that I remembered from history class. Like the famous Temple of Rao which was built in the 1970s.

Then this building came, at first it looked familiar, but then the more I stared at it, the more it started to form a resemblance. Resemblance to...

"This wasn't always a hotel, " Hans was saying. "My father built this building a long time ago. In his early thirties when he got married." His eyes dropped down. "Years later, I married a beautiful, kind, loving woman. After my father died of a heart attack a few months later, this mansion was passed on to me. It used to be that travellers, tourists, or people looking for shelter against the harsh weather, come here. Seeing this, my wife decided to turn our mansion into a place for everyone in need. She thought we didn't need so much space around the house and it could be used for good. And I agreed with her."

"And then what happened?" I asked.

"You really don't know?" He glanced at me...sharply.

It reminded me of the creeps he gave me earlier, but then, in a blink of an eye, his gaze shifted and his face softened.

C'mon Mont. I think. Tell me you saw that.
