"Make yourself at home." I told him as I headed to the kitchen. "Are you hungry?" I stopped at the door to the kitchen to wait for his answer.
"No, thank you though. I ate before I came over." He said. I just nodded and made myself a quick meal. I noticed he kept looking at me while I ate.
"If you have a question just ask." I could see him from the corner of my eye and caught him blushing ever so slightly.
"I…. uh, I was just wondering why everyone but certain people avoid you." His voice was so quiet when he asked this I almost didn't hear him. I gotta admit I genuinely smiled at his question, no one has ever cared since the beginning of whatever this is.
"Do you really want to know?" I don't know what made me ask, maybe it was just wanting to hear that someone wanted to hear my story.
"Yes." He actually looked me right in the eyes this time when he spoke to me. He's got the deepest blue eyes I've ever seen. But that's probably due to where he is originally from. He comes from a place in the ocean from what I've heard about him, I've only seen him a handful of times.
"Ok, I'll tell you my story." He was still standing so I motioned for him to come sit on the sofa with me. "Back then I was young and full of myself, I was probably twelve years old then. I was really into parkour so I was up on the rooftops, I had just finished a run and was standing on the rooftop near the edge of this Section when I noticed this large group of people. I moved closer so I could see better what was happening and saw they were fighting amongst themselves and they had quite the crowd watching them." I looked at him to see his expression so far.
"At the time I didn't know anything about my powers, or that I even had them. Heck back then we hadn't heard of anyone having powers of any kind.” I paused to gather my thoughts “I remember just wanting them to stop fighting and wishing that I was older so I could jump in and try to stop the fight. At times like this we shouldn't be fighting amongst ourselves. Anyway, next thing I know these wisps type kind of things that looked like red smoke came towards me, and it was coming from them." I paused for a moment to give him a chance to ask any questions, but he didn't. It seemed as though he was waiting for me to finish the story before he said or asked anything, which I didn't mind at all.
"But it wasn't just from the group fighting, it also came from some the people watching in the crowd. A large group consisting of those fighting, and some who werent stopped all movement, while everyone else around them was looking around. It was soon after that, that I realized I had taken their free will away." I told the cute little redhead boy beside me the story that no one else cared to know. "That's why everyone stays away from me and only sends certain people to speak with me on everyone else's behalf, those people are the ones who's free will I took. They are afraid I'll take their free will as well" to my surprise I felt arms wrap around my waist. Startled, I looked down and this little cutie was hugging me and crying into my chest. I was at a loss and did the only thing I could think of. I put one hand on the back of his head, his curly red hair was soft and put my other hand around his waist and held him till he stopped crying.
To be honest I was glad that we were in my private home. If we were anywhere else, where if someone were to see someone crying on me, especially this little cutie. I'm sure they would say I had been trying to take his free will so he was begging me not to, or some shiz like that. He had stopped crying but he was still wrapped around me. I went to move his arms when I realized I had at some point actually lifted him up onto my lap to hold him and that it wasn't his arms wrapped around my waist anymore but his legs, and it seemed no matter how I tried I couldn't pry them off my waist. "Hey kid, can you let go now?" I asked him. I was greeted with silence. I was able to move my head back enough to look at him, this kid just cried himself to sleep on someone who just told him they have the power to take his free will away.
I wonder why they sent him, why didn't they send one of the people from back then? could they not find one of them or does he have problems with the group he stays with and they sent him to me in hopes that I would take his free will or that he would die on the way here or back? I didn't like where that thought process was going and I couldn't just keep sitting here. I tried to sit back or anything, but found that I myself couldn't get comfortable on the sofa with this kid wrapped around me, so I did the only other thing I could think of and hoped that it wouldn't upset him.
