“This is amazing!!!”
“Can you see this, Ms. Bunny?”
“It says I can do almost anything with black magic!”
“And this book can teach me how to do many things!”
“I can even help Mattheus feel better!”
“O-or do resu-”
“Chuckle... I don’t know what that word means... but I think this can help me bring anyone back who left! I only need to become a strong witch!”
“Oh, wait... no... only a few people... since I’m only one witch...”
“Ughhh... and it takes many many years of practice and other things...”
“Nghh... No! That’s okay!”
“I will do whatever I have to do!”
“Because this means I can fix everything wrong!”
“Mattheus said the others are sad and angry because their friends are gone, and they got hurt!”
“Then... if I learn from this book and practice as Mattheus said... maybe I can make everything better!”
“Maybe we can go back, and I can make those people like me!”
“And Mattheus will be happy!!!”
“M-maybe I can even... mom... dad...”
“.............”
“This is it, Ms. Bunny!”
“Come on! Help me! I need to study harder than ever!”
“Let’s give it our all, and maybe I can do something great by the time Mattheus is home!”
It’s one of those days Mattheus is away for most of the time... he only arrives late at night.
And so... fortunately or unfortunately... Est has plenty of time to look through the books and practice.
Since she is talented and clever, the little witch makes quite a bit of progress, even alone.
Though there is a point she gets stuck...
“Hrmmm... this says that... certain black magic spells need lots of preparation... special items... and sometimes even... sacrifice?”
“Hmmm... I don’t totally understand.”
“But the spell I need to use to heal Mattheus seems to be one of these...”
“Urghhh... feathers... p-purified water... c-crystals from a magical forest... Ah! Doesn’t Mattheus have some of these at home?!”
“Hmmm... It says that many good items can be found in... fairy hands?”
“Hmm... hmmm...”
“Wait... what is this...? Sacrifice something really important to you...?”
“Uhmm... But what is that?”
“Something truly precious to your heart...”
At those words, the only thing that comes to Est’s mind is Mattheus. And that only makes her frown.
There is almost nothing else important to the little girl, after all.
However, after thinking for a few minutes, her eyes slowly turn towards the bunny toy in her arms... the only remaining gift from her parents...
Est frowns again, and her lips tremble. But she can’t take her eyes off her little treasure anymore.
