Meanwhile Hue was getting bored.
He kept dodging and killing the shadows like he was predicting any move of them "This is quite useless if you want to kill me" he said and at that point the four shadows stopped "Huh?" he held his sword, not letting his guard down.
"Master wants to call back the Gods" one of the shadows started to talk "We smell the energy of a God... He got back to this world and he needs guidance!" he exclaimed pointing at Hue "We will offer you all the bodies you want! Let us feast on your power and we will bring you the chaos that will lead to a new peaceful world where only the chosen ones will live under the gods will!"
Hue sighed and moved his hands. The shadows were frozen on spot as they noticed the black magic slowly dissolving and following Hue's hand till getting absorbed by a magical snow breeze that destroyed it in no time.
"And you wish to do this with such a weak power..." Hue looked at those shadows, who were probably sorcerers, that were using the black magic in their body to corrupt it, and became basically half demons to move faster in the night, and fight aggressively.
"Master will be happy to absorb you! We will kill Ming Yuan and absorb the power of the forgotten god with your help!" a man said, as he noticed Hue staring lost in the sky, looking at the moon as his long silver hair were gently moving like his white hanfu, while around him a cold breeze and white aura was slowly shining as his eyes became pure snow.
"W-wait... That's... How... Master said he failed the experiment and he has killed... He is..." the men tried to move but Hue looked at them and their bodies were blocked on the roof by the ice crystals that were forming from their feet to their neck.
"I didn't know I would live to this day" Hue elegantly touched his sword that became fragments of snow and he walked towards the men "Do you think you will be able to go back to your master?"
"He's... The Ice storm Lord! It's impossible!" the men panicked as they noticed the crystals forming till suffocating them under the empty stare of Hue.
"We did kill Fen Yuan... how can you be still alive.." the man asked and Hue looked at him.
Hue from being totally empty, showed a stare, a scary stare, a mad one that nobody thought a calm, empty person like him could ever show.
"Let your master still think this" Hue grabbed his neck and pressed, making the man beg for mercy "Now I know that your stupid organization has done this to my lady" he tilted his head seeing the man almost not moving anymore and he crushed his body against the roof, breaking his neck "Whoever sees these eyes, shall perish the eternal sleep, this will happen to you and your master soon, be happy you have been killed by the power you desired so much" he smiled as the body of the men who were the shadows become fragments of ice that soon were moved.
He turned and he noticed Ming coming fast towards him.
"Impressive, you managed to deal with those, seems like they were just explorers.." Ming looked at Hue who looked lost in his thoughts "Did you discover anything?"
Hue looked at the sky and then Ming who looked like he knew already, but wanted to hear from him anyway "They said they were following strings of energy... It's impossible to see these strings unless you're a soulmaster" Hue tilted his head to a side, it looked like he was back to his usual self "But they weren't soulmasters... Apparently the black magic they were using was mixed with soulmastery... oh and they did talk about the death of your wife"
Ming crossed his arms and sighed "I don't see why soulmasters should be working with the Cult... unless..." he looked at Hue, who looked again totally apathetic, thing that made Ming laugh for a moment because even if the situation could look dangerous, Hue looked like he didn't care about anything else once Bai Hu was safe.
"Unless... They are forcing soulmasters to collaborate" Hue looked at Ming and he shrugged "Guess some generals are playing hard to get with information. I will investigate better once Liam is back"
Hue looked towards the studio and then sighed "I will check if there is any shadow around the city"
Ming tried to speak but the man already was gone.
"I felt that madness..." he told himself, getting back in his mind, the flash of Hue holding his hand towards the neck of a man before seeing it dissolving. He could swear he saw Hue's face aggressive as ever, but he was far away, he couldn't hear anything.
Once Ming talked out with the guards about the little attack, he got back to the studio and laughed a bit, as he heard Bai Hu mumbling in her sleep.
"I can't believe you didn't even feel your fragment fighting against the shadows of the night, lady Bai Hu" he smiled, advancing to the woman sleeping on the lion, who was guarding her.
"It burns.."
Ming looked surprised as he noticed little tears on her cheeks. He didn't know what to do, he was simply there looking at the lady trembling, trying to make herself little on the lion's fur.
He kneeled to be closer to her "What's troubling your sleep, lady?" he asked as his hand slowly reached her front, to move some strands of hair to a side. His gaze was sad to see Bai Hu in that state considering he was used to her energy and positive aura. In that moment she looked as fragile as ever.
"Nothing is burning, you're safe" he said pinching her cheek like she was a little baby. He got surprised as soon as her hands grabbed his and his heart skipped an heartbeat when he saw her smiling in her sleep.
He swore he saw his wife for just an instant in front of his eyes.
