River's Pov
Barron continued his intimidation game, staring me down as I remained sitting on the floor. The Alpha fixed his hair, brushing his mahogany strands from his face before a devilish smile crossed his face. He was pissing me off, looking all good with his ripped muscles, in just a plain dark t-shirt and baggy shorts.
Who gave him the right to be so damn hot?
He strolled over to where I was lying, silently holding out a hand for me to take. I turned my nose up to the offer, helping myself off the floor. It was a bit cumbersome, the extra weight I was carrying was not helping me look at all graceful at that moment. My eyes wandered to where my knife could have landed because I was gonna need it in a second.
“You’re such a bad little wolf.” Barron pulled me into a warm hug before I could even reach for it, and he began taking full liberties to kiss my neck. The lapping of his tongue near my mark was his attempt to subdue me. Goosebumps rose on my skin. Releasing his smooth scent of sage made my dick jolt with anticipation. I leaned in for more, a slow fire sweeping over my body from such heated touches. Flustered, I caught myself before I fell too deep under his control.
“Get off of me, you prick.” Feigning annoyance at the Alpha, I shoved my hand into his face. I didn't want to come off as easy, and I was still upset about everything that happened today.
“You say that now, but I’m pretty sure you’re enjoying this.” He brushed his large hand against my groin, reminding me just how much my body had betrayed me. The wolf never listened, of course, and immediately went back to feeling me up, his hands wandering from around my waist to my ass. The Alpha grabbed fists full of my ass, copping a feel as he held me close. His hard dick pressed into my thigh, giving me a clue about what he wanted to do next. Trapped, my eyes were still searching for the knife, but I couldn’t find it. No matter, I still had another trick up my sleeve.
“I said to get off of me,” I ordered him. Elbowing him away to wriggle out of his hold, I was frustrated when he still wouldn’t budge. The tired fight to break free had only become an amusing sport for Barron who was apparently set on revenge. His tight hold on my body showed just how much stronger he was, but I still didn’t stop, my legs taking a few steps backward at any chance of escape.
“I don’t wanna.” He followed me as he spoke. Slowly, he walked forward until my back hit the solid piece of furniture behind me.
“If I let go, you’ll just run away from me. Besides, I think you owe me an apology.” Barron smirked as he went in for another kiss. I turned my face, denying him my soft lips.
An apology? An apology?! This motherfu—-
“I owe you an apology?” I snapped. Now he must have lost his damn mind. He was pissing me off, having the audacity to assume I was in the wrong here. I wasn’t wrong. He was wrong, and his stupid pandering act for affection wasn’t going to work on me.
Barron used the dresser to trap me in a corner, pressing his body against me and filling the room with his dominant pheromones. There was mounting tension between us, and he was clearly having fun at my expense. I didn’t know what was worse at this point–the idea that I wanted to punch him or have him fuck me.
The burning desires in my pants wanted nothing more than for him to bend me over on this dresser and shove his dick deep inside me. It was annoying, how I could just get caught up in his quest to dominate me. The Alpha went for another kiss, and my hand rose to slap him, only for him to catch my wrist.
“Playing hard to get, huh? Such a turn on.” His deep voice sent another wave of chills down my spine.
“Why don’t you go play in traffic,” I snapped back. I made up my mind. Hasty in my decision, I quickly reached over behind the black dresser for the other knife I had secretly taped onto the back side. Pointing the sharp blade, I purposefully aimed it to scare him away. I wanted to make myself perfectly clear— he needed to leave now, and I wasn’t afraid to use force to do it.
Barron could read me like a book, dodging the attack before he grabbed ahold of my wrist. My mind was too weak to predict this, the Alpha successful in removing my weapon from my grasp.
Caught red-handed, I tried to play coy about it.
“Oh sorry, it’s just a reflex,” I said, still struggling to get free.
“Reflex?” Barron growled before he decidedly gave up his cat and mouse game. The Alpha let go, giving me space to flee as I retreated to the other side of the room. His cold stare gave no clue to what he was thinking.
The wolf picked up the knife, golden eyes studying it before he walked back to me. He wanted to say something, at least to break the awkward silence between us, but he held his stoic composure. I couldn’t read him and, for once, I regretted my decision to let my emotions get the best of me.
“I’m sor… I’m sorry, okay. It’s just that you weren’t listening to me earlier,” I gave a shitty excuse. He stopped his approach, grabbing hold of my hand before sighing. He returned the dagger back to me.
“I know,” he said bluntly.
The silence only allowed for all of our problems to fester. I was bad at this; communication wasn’t my strong suit. Before now, I never really needed to explain myself to anyone. And I hated not being in control of everything.
My body was changing, the growing pups in my belly made me overly sensitive to even being touched. Being with the Alphas made me that much more aware of how weak I was. Tamed like a fragile Omega, my natural instincts betrayed me. I didn’t like handing over control so easily.
In the end, though, it still didn’t make up for what I did. I knew I’d hurt his feelings; the brooding Alpha was more sensitive than he let on. Even though he played it off like it was nothing.
Unsure of what to say, I stared down at the knife in my hand, remorseful for my actions.
“Your um… form is good. Just slow reflexes,” Barron commented. “With a bit of training, you can fix that in time. I could help you if you want?”
“Really?” A bit of my excitement came over me. I never really had the chance to get any sort of formal training before. That Barron was willing to do that for me made me forget just how upset I was with him earlier.
“I mean, that’s cool I guess.” I pretended to not care when deep down I actually did. My interest was piqued. I had something cool to look forward to.
“Yes, well I have a tight schedule but uh I guess I could fit you in sometime this week.” Barron nervously took a step forward, waiting for my response. I appreciated that this time he wasn’t so aggressive. Stretching my arms out, I offered him a hug as a peace offering.
With a soft smile, the Alpha took me up into his arms.
“I’m sorry, little wolf,” he softly whispered. “For everything. Today, you didn't deserve to be left alone. Just know that I always want to be with you.” He held me close. It felt nice for once to lean into the warmth for comfort.
In our sweet moment, someone reminded us we weren’t entirely alone.
‘Helllllooooo, will somebody please open the blasted door?’ Ezra mindlinked us.
‘No!’ In unison, Barron and I answered the other’s distress calls. A quick chuckle left Barron's lips. Both of us laughed at our shared twisted sense of humor.
‘Oh, come off it! You can’t be serious?’ By the tone of his voice, Ezra was going to wake everyone up if he wasn’t given access.
“We should make him climb up too.” Barron sought to torture the wolf some more.
“Yeah, we should.” Of course, I didn’t actually do that. Quietly, I shuffled downstairs to let the whining Alpha inside. Ezra immediately wanted affection for being left alone for so long, but he got the same warning too.
Once we were all in my room, I was ready to hear them out. From where I was standing, everyone was still in the dog house. Still, being in their presence made me feel less anxious than before. Sitting on the edge of the bed, I watched as the two stood nervously in front of me.
They should be scared after all the nonsense they put me through.
“River, my love,” Ezra began, wanting to settle the situation. “You have to understand today was out of our control. Nate and Theo were the ones who decided to ignore you guys,” he explained.
“Out of your control?” My eyes narrowed. He wasn’t starting off on a good foot by passing the blame to his human.
“But it was for a good reason,” Ezra continued.
“And that was?” I huffed. Frustrated, I was starting to get angry again. What was a good reason to ignore me? They were lucky I even gave them the time of day.
“Our humans were appealing the council’s decision for Ares and Vince to stay at the pack house.” Barron was the one to speak up for once.
I kept my mouth shut. Wasn't expecting that to be the reason for their disappearance.
“It was quite inappropriate in my opinion,” Ezra shared his own thoughts. “You think they’d show some more respect for their Luna and his feelings towards the matter.” He crossed his arms.
“We got the council to approve relocating them to my old pack. That way, we can keep a strict eye on them.” Barron explained.
It hadn’t hit me yet that the Alphas were upset on my behalf. With everything I had been struggling to deal with, they had been working hard at trying to protect me. Just like that, the weight on my shoulders became lighter as I looked over at my mates.
They actually cared about me, and I doubted them for that.
“I’d say they should’ve been killed for coming so close to you,'' Barron grunted.
“That’s a barbaric way to put it, but yes they shouldn’t be anywhere near our Luna,'' Ezra added. “Especially one who is carrying twins!” Ezra had turned the conversation back to our happy little discovery earlier today.
“We outta make sure nothing happens to you, my love.” He smiled. Barron too. We were all in a good place.
A warm, fuzzy feeling came over me. For once, I acknowledged the pups, proud that Remy and I had found a safe place to call home. With these two idiots by my side, everything was going to be okay. It had to be. Why else did I feel so happy now?
“I can’t believe it. Twins! And they’re going to have your beauty and my intelligence,” Ezra crowed. He was at it again, this time taking up the cause of his human, believing he was the father of my pups.
“Fuck out of here, they’re clearly mine. Be happy I’m allowing you to be the nanny,” Barron growled. Soon enough, another argument began.
“Preposterous. Surely they are mine. But I’ll grant you permission to be the babysitter,” Ezra arrogantly countered. I sighed heavily. Just what we needed, more useless bickering.
Morons. I’m surrounded by morons.
There was no getting through to these dumb rocks unless I presented myself naked on a silver platter. Laughing at my thoughts, I couldn’t help but fall for the two all over again.
Guess it’s time to shut them up now.
This argument wasn’t going to end anytime soon, and I was just saving myself time in the long run if I cut things off now. I also didn’t want to discuss anything more about today. I was just tired of it all.
Nonchalantly, I undressed. Pulling the large tee from over my head. The two carried on a stupid heated conversation, not paying much attention to me as I completely stripped down. Naked, I strolled to the dresser, wanting to spice up the night with a little surprise I had gotten a while ago. The snap of the elastic waistband finally caught their attention, the argument coming to an abrupt stop.
The two were staring, their eyes wandering up and down my body. Unlike Remy, I wasn’t so insecure about myself. Even with the extra weight, I knew I looked good, and I used it to my full advantage.
“Not to cut your conversation short, but I think there are better things you guys should be doing,'' I seductively toyed with them. Releasing my sweet scent, the two shared the same look, horned up over what was going to happen next.
“And what is that?” Barron devilishly smirked. His eyes said it all, wanting to take a bite out of me as I approached. Ezra was quick at the jump, wasting no time being the one to hug me first. The towering alpha leaned down, kissing my neck as he ran his hands along to my surprise. A cute navy blue jockstrap I had on. The underwear had been my idea for Remy to wear, but he outright refused.
“I think you already know what.” I tugged at Barron's waistband, watching it snap back. Stirring the beast, there was hidden lust in those sharp golden eyes that made me shudder.
Struck by the fervor, we all were caught in a hurricane of desire, everything in a rush to reach that euphoric high I always craved. With nothing to hold us back, we had no problem getting down to business. Ezra worked on leaving hickies all over my body as Barron’s tongue found its way to mine. Sucking and lapping up his fever kisses, I became addicted to the way the Alpha could steal my breath away. Clothes off, I got my fill of their impeccable naked bodies. My dick was hard, dripping wet from the excitement, my body past the limit of restraint.
“Lick it,” I commanded. Before I was to fulfill anyone’s wishes tonight, I was gonna have a bit of fun first.
