Chirp, chirp..... The birds chirped happily around the garden, drawing Aurielle out of her slumber. Stretching out her feet and arms, she slowly opened her eyes, which were fighting to get used to the sunlight. She took her cell phone and looked at the time, "why is it so late?" she thought to herself without making any effort to get out of her bed.
She stared at the ceiling of her bedroom for 5 minutes, various thoughts wandering through her head, contemplating if she should take part in the singing contest or not.
She was known to be the best, but to her family, she wasn't, she was never enough. After all, there wasn't anyone supporting her, her parents had died in a terrible accident, according to what she remembered.
It was hard to recognize their faces in the flashbacks which she had. What had really occurred in that year was a big taboo for their family. No one ever spoke of it and it wasn't to be spoken of, this was what her grandmother decided, after she was rescued and brought back miraculously by the police. Although she longed to know the real reason behind her parents demise, there wasn't anyone willing to answer her questions and being the loving granddaughter which she was, disobeying her grandmother's orders didn't come in question.
Sighing in exhaustion, she made her way out of bed and walked to her bathroom, taking off her sleeping clothes. She stood there and watched her naked self in the mirror, long slim and beautiful legs adorned with a slim waist. Her cup size was 34c which was considered rather normal in comparison to Latisha. Her skin was glowing on every part of her body and she had golden blond long hair, which always waved themselves naturally, without her trying.
Her grandmother once called her 'the enchantress of the Reddens', resulting in her nickname within the family, which was vixen, due to her bewitching face. She had an oval shaped face, with full lips and red glowy eyes that were a little bit slanted. Everyone said she got the looks from her mother, however the golden blond hair was the sign of the Reddens family, everyone had golden blond hair and green eyes, making her an exception.
All she ever wanted was a normal life, to be a normal teenager like everyone else, have parents who loved her and siblings, who she could share moments with but life didn't have such plans for her.
Knock knock, it sounded at the door, "Miss Aurielle, breakfast has been served, Madam and the others are awaiting you", Mina, her personal maid told her.
"I'll be right there, help me prepare a cup of green tea", Aurielle replied back, entering the bathtub. She hurriedly took a bath, dressed up quickly and made her way to the dining room, where everyone was gathered. Walking down the staircase, she heard a laughter, which she hadn't heard the whole summer break. "seems like the family devil is back", she inwardly thought to herself.
Putting on a gracious smile and ignoring the probing and malicious eyes, she walked inside the room, heading towards her grandmother and gave her a kiss on her cheek. "Good morning grandma, I trust you had a good night's sleep?" , she asked her while holding her hand.
"I slept quite well last night after you prepared me tea", Senior Mrs Reddens, answered her granddaughter with love in her eyes."How about you?"
"Seems like the fact that you are called the school's goddess has gotten into your head" a girl with similar golden hair and green eyes, said to Aurielle with ridicule on her face, hindering her from answering her grandmother's question. "You kept us all waiting for you like your attendants and you don't even speak a word of apology?"
"I am happy to see you too Daeva", Aurielle answered back with a smile, taking a sip of her tea. "How was the journey? I believe you had a lot of fun at the boot camp, oh my, look how tan your skin has become. I am sure Tommy would be glad to see you. The house was so quiet and peaceful during your absence, I almost forgot of your existence, forgive me my dear cousin."
"I dare not hold a grudge against the goddess of phoenix's high, after all you were the one who made the suggestion of grandma sending me to the boot camp. I will remember this kindness and pay it back in ten folds", Daeva replied back to Aurielle gritting her teeth.
"Daeva sweetheart, it was only in your good will. I mean you also stand and represent the household Reddens as a direct descendant, we don't want anyone speaking behind our backs, claiming we weren't brought up properly. Everyone sitting on this table, knows fully well that your act was a disgrace. How should grandma show her face in public, if it ever gets out that her granddaughter was caught having sexual intercourse in public? Have you ever thought about that?"
"I was barely having fun, how was I supposed to know that Uncle Richard will be at the party too?" Daeva said, while playing with her curls.
"Alright, it's a dining table, not a discussion ground. I am sure Daeva has learnt from her mistake and won't act in such disgraceful manner anymore, am I right?" senior Mrs Reddens said, giving Daeva a stern look.
