The next day...

I woke up to see my husband was by my side, but I dare not touch him for fear of triggering Aiden. I slipped away and took a shower. After getting strangled by Aiden I couldn't speak or eat properly.

"What's going on?" Theodore asked.

"Your Highness, the evidence you requested." Suddenly the maid, Christine appeared and handed James some pictures which made him boil with rage. So Christine IS the spy! I was wondering who could it be!

"You husband beater! Abuser! You tried to kill my baby brother!" James said which made Theodore more confused as he looked my way.

"But I never abused Noah, what the fuck are you talking about?!" Theodore said.

"Oh, yea? Care to explain this?" James threw a bunch of photos on my beloved's face. It was a picture of Theo-- No, Aiden strangling me. Theodore picked them up and scanned them one after another confused yet in disbelief.

"What is this? What is this?!" Theodore's hands were shaking as his eyes met mine. "Noah, baby, what is this? This isn't me! Tell James that!"

"Th-That's not Theo! Ack!" I coughed as I try my best to squeeze out the word. "My Theo... Would never hurt me!" I stood in front of my beloved, defending him from my brother.

"Don't defend that abuser Noah!" James shouted at me. I was so scared but more than anything I do not want my brother to hurt my husband.

"It's not him! It's Aiden!"

"And who the fuck is Aiden?"

"I don't know... Some split personality... Or a persona manifested... From the marking... S-Sometimes he takes over Theo... And for some reason, he wants me dead."

"What...? S-So with those hands I... I..." Theo was in distress and I held his hand to comfort him. "I feel sick." My love slapped my hand away and bolted off.

"You coward! Come here!" James shouted and tried to chase after Theodore, but I stopped him.

"Don't! I'm warning you here James... If you ever trigger my husband... Anymore... I'll end you." James was shocked that I was serious about my statement.

"Fine, then we're going back home, I won't let you stay with an unstable person."

"Home...? This is my home here!"

"Fine, then I'm staying here until things settle down."

"You have one month your highness." Christine who was silent the whole time spoke up.

"What do you mean a month?" James asked.

"You have a banquet to attend at the end of the month, not to mention your blind date."

"Oof, fine! One month! If we don't settle this I'm taking you home by force!"

"Alright, deal. Christine, please lead my brother to a room where he can rest." I'm going after my husband.

I left James and chased after Theodore, but I couldn't find him. I went to the garden since it's his favorite spot in the palace, the library, the dining hall, and our bedroom, but I couldn't find him. How I wish May were here to tell me where I can find him...

May POV.

In the Evermoon Royal Palace...

"I seek an audience to the guardian of the archiver." I said.

"And who might you be?" A guard asked.

"May Blackwell, I'm an alchemist with a holy degree." I said as I showed him my certificate. "I know I have come with no prior engagement, but I have important information for her excellency."

"Let her in." One of the archivers said.

"As you wish!" The guard said then I was let in. I hurried my way to the queen to find her reading a book. Her profile is similar to Noah's when he reads that I almost mistook her for him.

"Oh my! If it isn't May." Nora White, the queen of Evermoon said. Queen Nora has long bright red hair, a proof that she is native from Whitenight, she has purple eyes and fairly skin with freckles, the same as Noah. No one knows where the queen is from as she is not noble nor royalty of Whitenight. All is known that one day she appeared beside King Regis as his fiancee.

"At your service." I said as I bowed down to her.

"You don't need to be so formal with me sweetie, I know you and my late son were good friends. I am so sad that you stopped popping around after my son's funeral."

"I apologize for that, your highness... Coming here is still hard for me, this whole castle reminds me of him... It reminds me of Owen and how I'll never see him again..."

"... You were experimenting on of my children...?" Her tone was curt. She was smiling yet I can tell she is incredibly pissed. I know because Owen had the same trait.

"I-I have Noah's consent, see!" I handed her the contract that Noah signed before I conducted my research.

"That's not forged, it is indeed Noah's handwriting. I believe you, so what did you discover?"

"I have found out that Blackly can work as a concealer for the Evermoon birthmark."

"Yes, I am aware of that."

"Exactly! Wait, what? If you knew then how come it was never recorded?"

"It's forbidden knowledge, in the past people used that knowledge to kill the Evermoons by throwing Blackly on them and calling them fakes. You should be dead now, but Owie loved you so I ask of you to burn that discovery."

"But this is knowledge! How can you do that?"

"Oh, I can do anything to protect the Evermoon bloodline, May, you're not a mother, once you become one you'll understand before I am queen I am a mother that will do anything for her children."

"I don't understand, but I will dispose of this information."

"Good choice... So anything else?"

"Yes, about Whitely, the holy element that the birthmark reacts to..."

"Do not ever trigger those visions again!"

"Honey... Please, open the door." I stood in front of the door as I pleaded for my husband to open the door.

"No." That is the answer that I got.

"It does matter!" Theodore's outburst cut me off. "You... When it comes to you, I want to make you safe, I want to be your safe haven."

It's been three days since Theodore locked himself inside one of the rooms. I went there everyday, but my husband refuse to open the door. James was observing me from afar with his sword ready. I unlocked the door using the master key. "Honey?!" I rushed to Theodore who was handcuffed to the bed, his food for the past three days was untouched and from his expression, it looks like he didn't drink a lot of water.

"You shut the fuck up!" My husband was astonished by my language and I realized that I cursed at him which made me feel ashamed. "I apologize, my love, I just do not appreciate it when you demean yourself. We will go to Sihr tomorrow!"

"Isn't that too early?" May asked.

"We don't have much time, we don't know when Aiden might emerge." I argued.

"I'm coming with you!" James said.

"No you're not, with all due respect your Highness, you need other matters to attend to." Christine, the maid aka Jame's spy objected.

"Nothing in this world is more important than keeping my brother safe."

"Yeah... I'm sure his highness, Prince Noah Evermoon can take care of himself."

"No! Noah is just a baby!"

"... Your Highness... I think you forgot something..." Suddenly the aura around Christine changed and a small electrical charge formed around her. "I was given the authority to drag you back by force if necessary by his majesty King Regis." Magic? No way!

"Ugh... Fine, I hate it when you zap me." James surrendered.

"Good, Christine, let's go."

"Why is he taking one of my staff with him...?" Theodore asked feeling confused and I explain to him everything,

"She was a spy... I am surprised to see a Whitenighter works as a spy for the Evermoon family."

"A White what?!" May asked.

"Only natives from Whitenight hail the power of the elements and some of them work for us." James stated.

"What?!"

"They work as our shadow, do our dirty work and protect us, the Evermoons."

"It is an honor to serve you, your highness, I do not mind dying while protecting you!" Christine said passionately.

"I appreciate that, but don't die." James said.

"Ah, yes, I will try my best."

"Alright, guess I can't join you in your journey to Sihr, at least have this..." James handed me a necklace that has a small bottle.

"What is this...?" I asked

"It's holy water from Firia's holy lake. It is said that this water can heal any injuries, illness, or pain. I want you to use it on yourself if danger ever got you. Use it on yourself only!"

"O-Okay..." James hugged me tightly.

"Please be safe, you're my only brother left." I hugged my older brother back.

"You too, please be safe." And with that, we parted ways.
