A black-haired male named Hunter went to his boyfriend's volleyball practice after school. His boyfriend immediately noticed his presence and smiled up at him from the court. Hunter smiled and waved before he went to sit down in the upper-level balcony seats in the gym. Music was playing in Hunter's headphones as he watched his boyfriend play.
Eventually, someone walked up the stairs and made their way over to him, catching his attention. Hunter couldn't recognize him but noticed that he was a member of his boyfriend's volleyball team.
Hunter paused his music when the player had stopped not so far away. "Yes?" He asked, with no fear since no aggravated pheromones were coming from the other person.
"You're Hunter. I'm the captain of the boys' volleyball team, Joseph." Hunter stood up from his seat and shook the volleyball captain's hand. Their hands separated a few seconds and Joseph frowned after Hunter sat back down. "I came to warn you…" Hunter tensed up, entirely focusing on the captain before hearing him continue. "There's someone on our team..who has shown some interest in Theodore. His name's Shane Anderson and he's a flirt. He's known to be the type to not care about trying to get with people in committed relationships." Hunter quickly became irritated but managed to hold back a growl. "I just hope you get rid of the gnat before he becomes a fly."
"Thank you.." Hunter looked away, but his eyes weren't on the court anymore. He rested his chin on his fist, obviously no longer relaxed. The captain nodded before walking off.
Hunter eventually watched the practice again but paid more attention to what was happening. He watched the players, intently, focusing on their personalities and tendencies until he found the person he was looking for. Hunter had decided to take a break after a while and left the gym, intending to get some water.
Hunter paid for a water bottle but as soon as he grabbed it from the bottom of the vending machine he was standing in front of and stood up straight, someone was standing there with a smirk on their face. Someone, who was wearing a volleyball uniform.
He was someone who had just been recently written down as a threat in Hunter's head.
"Hey, sexy." Shane Anderson. A strawberry blond with green eyes and creamy white skin. All Hunter did was lean back slightly and glare at him. "I just wanted to say hi and that you're… hot. I'm so glad I saw you sitting up there all alone. I didn't know how long it was going to take for me to flirt with that absolute nobody before someone else finally showed up."
Hunter let out a growl, storming over to Shane Anderson until he was in the slightly taller guy's face. The water bottle in the alpha's hand was in danger of bursting.
The nobody Shane had mentioned was Hunter's mate, Theodore.
After a few moments of harsh glaring from one side and a lustful stare from the other, heavy footsteps came over to them.
"Don't touch him, Hunter." Hunter turned his head to glare at a larger man who looked like a coach…most likely the coach of the volleyball team since Hunter didn't recognize him and there weren't any other sports teams occupying the gym.
Hunter backed up before glancing at his wrist and seeing that his veins were very visible.
Hunter forced his body to calm down before he walked out of the school building, coming up with a quick decision to quaff the water down. He managed to throw the empty water bottle in a recycling bin before quickly diving into his emotions. Hunter unpaused his music before turning it up as his feet started to move, leaving the entire property.
Hunter didn't know exactly where he was going. He only thought about lifting his hood over his head, and not caring that his tail peaked out from his hoodie and his wolf ears had made an appearance.
