I’m not ashamed to admit that my sister freaks the hell out of me. Jokes on her, she freaks the hell out of everyone. And mixed with the inevitable admiration from her governed and her hard-working pretty little ass, she had as much power as many few in decades.
Today, however, I was determined. Not a dumb thief nor a powerful ruler could ever stop me from my destiny (a date with the love of my life, that is). If anyone could put their hands on fire in the name of this cause, that was Her Highness Lidia. She could give order for all the candles in this kingdom to be lit in her name, and half an hour later she’d have a sea of twinkling stars overstepping the borders of her land. A minuscule tinny winy problem like a whole generational stolen chest would be easy cake.
“LuluuuuUuu!” I chanted, as I flung open the door.
Lidia, beloved Lidia, didn’t even take off her sleep mask.
“You have about thirty seconds to get your existence out of my presence before I get someone to drag it out for you.”
I did as she said.
