Rock sharpens against rock. Liu’s leaning over the ground’s edge, one push away from the everlasting void. She tests the edge of the rock every dozen swipes or so. Meticulously, she stays at work. I sit still, uncertain as to what it is I shall do.
How will I fare onwards in my lonesome? Do I have any sanity left to lose? To live a day more, will I take her life? Can I? Does she know I’m here, drafting in this damned journal as I always do? I have no hope of reaching the bottom of this cave. I wish not to live, nor to die.
Liu’s standing over the ground’s edge, one push away from the everlasting void.
