Mica invited Elwyn, Lysandra and Manta to leave while he talked to Sasha about her treatment. He gracefully walked closer to the little girl.
"Well, hello, Sasha. I'm Mica, Lysandra's older brother, he explained. I'm a healer, and I was the one who took care of your injuries while you were out. Your ribs haven't completely healed yet and might be a little painful still, as you might have noticed. So you might want to lay for a couple of days or just sit, but I recommend not doing any exercise for a while. Now...we have to address a slight problem. Your leg. "
Sasha stared down at her right leg wrapped in multiples inches of bandages.
"So, yeah... Mica says awkwardly. It is very damaged and practically every bone is broken into tiny pieces. "
The little girl looked up at him with despair and a ton of other mixed emotions.
"Am I going to lose my leg? I can't walk with just one leg! AM I GOING TO DIE?! the girl thought. "
"Calm down Sasha, he reassured her. I can almost hear you overthinking. Stop, Mica gently requested as he put his hand up to her forehead."
From his palm radiated a dim light that instantly calmed Sasha and relaxed all tense muscles.
"You have nothing to worry about, Sasha. I can make your leg as good as new with my abilities. Sure, it will take some time, you'll have to be patient and I know you will be, but I guarantee that you won't lose your leg, Mica said to the girl to comfort her. Well! Shall we begin, Sasha? he asked while grabbing his suitcase."
Sasha liked that Mica didn't treat her like a child. He didn't even call her that even once! He was straightforward but still comforting. So, she agreed. Mica took out a beautiful white silver dagger engraved with wings.
"So, Sasha, I know this will maybe look scary to you, he warned her, but you have to trust me. I know what I'm doing, he affirmed while getting up."
He raised his sleeve, revealing multiple silverish scars all over his hand and arm and raised his arm right above Sasha's face. Sasha was shocked, scared and confused by the sight, but she stayed still.
"He knows what he is doing, she repeated to herself."
He took the dagger to the base of his thumb and slit his skin. Sasha fully expected red blood, but it ended up being the same colour as the blade, a bright, glowy silver colour. Mica closed his hand into a fist and squeezed, blood rolling down his hand.
"Sasha, he said as he put a hand to her forehand again, calming her down once again, from now on, listen to me carefully. If I tell you to do something, you have to do it, otherwise, it won't work."
She nodded her head in approval.
"Good. Now, close your eyes and open your mouth."
Sasha obeyed without a thought and Mica let his silvery blood drip into her mouth. His wound closed not even a second after, leaving a new scar on his hand.
"A couple of drops is plenty, the angel told her. It is very powerful, you'll see. "
Mica raised both his arms above Sasha and moved them slowly toward her injured leg while muttering a strange incantation in a language unknown to Sasha. The silver liquid seemed to follow his hands from the inside, moving from her mouth and all the way to her foot while emitting a small white light under her skin.
The little girl could feel the light dancing around in her leg, frantically going from one vein to another, repairing them and re-establishing the blood flow to her leg, healing every nerve and assembling her bones back together like a puzzle.
After what seemed like a few minutes, the warmth of the light finally faded and Sasha knew that it had finished its job.
She opened her eyes and saw Mica who was sweating profusely.
"Well... oof! This sure was something else! He said as he wiped away the beads of sweat on his forehead. Honestly, I've never spent so much time on a patient. "
"hasn't it been only a couple of minutes? Asked Sasha, confused."
"A couple of minutes?! To you, maybe since you were in a trance, but it has been a couple of hours already. "
The girl looked at him in disbelief. He laughed at her confusion.
"It's time for me to leave. I'll let you rest and hopefully, when we see each other again, you will be in a much better state."
On that note, he left, leaving Sasha alone in the little house. She looked around her. The walls were all made out of some kind of off-white clay and a small round window from which came the moonlight which was brighter than usual that night. She saw her bag two meters away from her bed and tried to call Merlin to her.
"Pssst! Merlin!"
The bag sprung up hastily and moved towards her. The dragon's nose peaked out, then he shook the bag off of him and jumped on the bed with the agility of a wild cat. He put his paw on Sasha's stomach to sleep on her, like usual, but she whimpered in pain. Merlin quickly took ok his paw and lay next to her. His scales seemed to grow thicker, bigger and more vivid in colour every day. They drifted to sleep together, unaware of what had awakened outside.
It was a beautiful night though somewhat uncomfortable for Sasha but the warmth emitting from Merlin soothed her aching leg. The moon was very bright. No sound could be heard, not even from the waterfall. The animals and plants were all in a deep slumber.
A light breeze carried strange whispers throughout the village and a shadow lurked in the night, lifting leaves from the ground and making its way between the houses without making a sound. The creature finally stopped in front of Sasha's window, blocking the moonlight. The girl's eyes opened slightly and she turned over to look out the window but it had already fled and the gentle sound of a windchime could be heard in the distance. The sound resonated for a while before fading, so the young girl fell asleep again.
Sasha is a very curious and stubbornly brave (or stupid) 13 years old girl. One day, she couldn't take it anymore. She was craving a new adventure, so she fled her adoptive mother looking for a more action-filled life. Guess what? Well, she found it! But maybe it wasn't exactly what she was expecting. She woke up, after a dramatic fall, in an unfamiliar, fantastic world called Egea where lives some of the most unexpected of creatures. Along the way, she meets a lot of interesting people(?) but also falls face-to-face with a very unfortunate series of events. Will she be able to make it back to her family? or will she find out that she belongs somewhere else...?
