Kazan Saori could not help but stare at the sleek and shiny gavel held in those white fingers of the Chief Justice.

“Seriously…”, he thought as he averted his eyes and caught a glimpse of Nova Lan Cash dressed in his courtroom gown as smartly as ever. He was sitting with Esau, an actor and also the very person who had filed a case against Kazan.

“You may now defend yourself, Mr. Kazan Saori”, it was the Chief Justice.

Kazan was really annoyed, “Ah! I told this before- I was too drunk to even walk and Esau was with me. I must have been out of my mind!”, looking down he added, ”I…might just have been horny”, and hurriedly gasped, ”I mean- lonely!”, as he felt Aoi (Kazan’s lawyer) glare at him.

Aoi rushed, “Your Honor, a drunk person loses control, it is a given and Kazan didn’t lay a finger on Esau. This case is just a result of exaggeration on Esau’s part.”

Nova Lan Cash stood up; the whole room fell silent at once. His presence was intimidating. His sharp jaw lifted up in the air; his shrewd, blue eyes looked at the Chief Justice. He bowed.

“Nova, you really are defending Esau?”, said the Chief Justice.

Nova nodded curtly and said, “Mr. Kazan flirted with Esau, I agree that this isn’t a serious issue. But there was this video that was out in the media; Mr. Kazan was sprouting incoherent nonsense and, in the video, it looked like he was courting Esau- “

“I would never do that!” Kazan sprang up.

“Silence!”

Nova continued, “It has conceived a lot of personal as well as professional problems, Esau’s reputation has gone down and he has lost a considerable number of fans. Therefore, my client would appreciate it if Mr. Kazan makes a public statement of what he said now, along with a compensation.”

Aoi almost jumped, “Objection!”

“Objection over ruled. Considering the facts stated and projected, I now come to the conclusion. It is as said by Nova Lan Cash, the Court orders Mr. Kazan Saori to make a public statement and pay Esau a compensation of one million yen.”

“The Court is adjourned.”   

 Kazan smacked Nova’s head, “Ow! What the heck?! That hurts.”

“You really are something! I would kill you! Why did you freaking defend that scumbag?!”

“Esau paid me.”

“I really hate you!”

Nova was very good at his work; he was the Chief Justice’s student and many expected him to ascend his teacher’s position when he's old enough. Nova also happened to be the best friend of the twenty-two years old openly outed celebrity makeup artist, and the first male ambassador of the XX Cosmetics, Kazan Saori.    

“But you should really lay low for a while. You have been attracting a lot of unwanted attention lately. Just because your fans are totally cool with you being gay, it doesn’t mean that a scandal like this would not defame you,” Nova started lecturing.

“Yeah, whatever…” Kazan mumbled.
