After Han Fei comes back home and eats a meal, he looks blankly at the wall.
“My monster roommate wants to catch the murderer. How can I confront such a cruel killer?”
“He is a sick murderer who killed eight people and still escaped the police! If I find a clue, will he harm me?”
Working on a murder case all by oneself and steadily moving closer to the actual killer is not impressive, but highly unsafe.
“I must work with police, but I can’t disclose the existence of the game. Besides, the more people who know my identity, the more likely it is that the killer will come to my door.”
“Now we are both in the dark. He will find a way to kill me if I go out into the light.”
“The game can stop, but real life can’t.” Han Fei stands up from the couch, “I need to take action.”
Han Fei opens his computer and orders a tactical pen, an extendable baton, a flashlight, and an electric shock anti-wolf device.
After that, he buys several criminal psychology, self-defense, and survival courses.
“I used to waste so much time, I need to make my life more fulfilling.”
He must understand the killer’s thinking and help the victim avoid hopelessness. This is vital to his life.
At midnight, Han Fei locks the doors and windows and hesitantly puts on his game helmet.
“I last quit on the third floor, but when I log in again, I will run directly to the fourth floor.”
As he closes his eyes, the world in front of Han Fei turns blood-red.
“Welcome to Perfect Life! Now you can…”
Han Fei opens his eyes before the voice in his head finishes. And his expression turns bad at that moment.
The coldness emanating from the ring freezes his fingers. As Han Fei looks up, he sees a child sitting at the half-open door, whose face he could not see.
“He is waiting for me!” Han Fei feels afraid.
As Han Fei is becoming desperate, the door behind him opens.
“Come in!” Han Fei is forcefully pulled back.
The child swiftly crawls toward Han Fei.
“Boom!”
The door close with a loud bang, and Han Fei could hear the sound of nails scratching outside the door. Han Fei sits on the ground, drenched in cold sweat.
“Are you okay?” Meng Shi coughs and assists Han Fei to stand up.
“Grandma Meng, I would have died if it weren’t for you. Thank you.”
“Why do you come to the third floor suddenly?” Meng Shi looks very unhappy.
“My house has ghosts! I have questions for you.”
“Wait a minute. Let me check if the child has left.” Meng Shi puts a red candle by the door, and Han Fei sees that there are no lights on inside the house.
She gazes at the flickering flames and shadows on the wall. She remains quiet for a while before saying: “I don’t see the child’s shadow. He doesn’t come with us.”
“What is happening with that child? It is frightening to witness.”
Meng Shi remains silent, grabs the candle, and proceeds to walk toward the living room.
“Grandma Meng, you opened the door as soon as I appeared. Have you been waiting in the doorway the whole time?” Han Fei feels a bit confused.
“I’m inside the house and look at the opposite door.” Meng Shi puts the red candle on the table and sighs: “Coco is missing, I guess he runs into the opposite room.”
“Coco is missing?” Han Fei is also shocked by the news.
“Do you know why I always lock Coco in my bedroom?” Meng Shi sits weakly in her chair.
“Why?” Han Fei has noticed it when he first came.
“Because Coco always wants to go out to play with that child.”
