“Also, just saying, if someone gets a bit too nosy, just shoot them,” Adria told me. 

“Shoot them? What do you mean?” Mike asked, sounding bewildered.

“In a polite way, I mean.”

“Uh-huh, and how will we make the police believe that we killed someone politely?” 

“You and I have been friends for a long time, right?” She asked him, changing the topic.

“Yeah, why? Is your memory bad or something?” He asked.

“No, it’s just that you haven’t met someone, so I’m introducing you to them!”

“Oh, uh, who is it?” 

“You’ll see.” As she said that, she pulled out the remote and pressed the button with a garage door printed on it. It creaked noisily, leaving him wondering if it was about to fall on top of them.

“This is the place!” She exclaimed enthusiastically.

He looked up and saw an innocent girl or woman, she couldn’t tell if it was a child or not.  He took a glance at the girl, “how’d you guys be friends? You guys look completely different!” He whispered to his friend.

“I had my doubts too,” Adria replied

“Uh, hi, I’m, uhm, Mike for short. Nice to meet you.” He introduced himself. What am I doing, I’m leaving.

“Nice to meet you too, I’m Elvira Beaumont. Nice to meet you too.” She greeted him.

 He just walked off.

Rude, Adria thought, then shrugged.

He knew that was rude, but he just left without saying anything for some reason. He didn’t know what it was, but he knew it was for a reason. I’ll apologize later, he decided.

He was walking, but then he saw something on the ground, bending over, he picked it up.
