Ignis is the firstborn of Mortem Angelus and Glacies Nix Clavis. While he keeps his struggles to himself, he carries many worries. He is a serious and logical person, which has helped him survive in the world of the W.U.T.F and Y.C.U. He was strong-willed, and his determination helped him climb the ranks.
But part of that determination comes from hatred of the Clavis family. They see themselves as higher beings compared to humans. He knew that was all gatekeepers' weakness, thinking they were better than the rest. It was almost like sickness. He hated that he had the power of fire in him. Everything about being a gatekeeper seemed cursed; they are hunted beings, and they aren't seen as humans or creatures.
Here, he was again trapped in the drama that the so-powerful Clavis family had made. Though he needed to be involved in this drama, it was very important. Many questions rushed through his mind, such as how, how did his little sister arrive here. And why now? Was what ran through his head.
"Aunt… Just how did she leave your sight?" Ignis growled. He gave her no room to speak. He wasn't done with his foolish Aunt. "You said and promised to keep her hidden. Yet here she is, walking through this ground and home of death." Ignis snapped.
"Ignis. Ignis, my child, please, please hear me out. This is for the best. Flos Lilium is no longer a child." His aunt begged. "She has questions, and she seeks answers…" The aunt started to weep.
"I should have known better. How come I trusted you when you couldn't keep your son safe." Ignis said with venom; he knew those words hurt his aunt the most. And he soon came to regret them.
"Aunt… I didn't mean that." Ignis said solemnly. He heard his aunt slowly stop weeping. "Ignis… You soon will come to understand my pain. I hope you learn to accept the fire inside of you. Or else you and Lignum shall learn of my pain." His aunt spoke coldly, yet her voice still shook, full of sadness.
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY THAT!?" He roared. He was pissed. How dare his aunt threaten his family. He glared at her and watched as she ended their connection.
His head hurt, his thoughts swimming through his head, trying to understand the cruel words his aunt spoke. He cursed his aunt and sighed. He looked around his office, feeling empty and useless. He let out a soft sigh. "If only I were stronger…" Ignis mumbled. "And you are." A voice replied.
Ignis looked back and saw his younger brother walk into his office carrying coffee. Willow quickly followed Lignum; "Brother, perhaps Aunt knows more. Please call her back and ask forgiveness." Lignum said softly, handing Ignis the cup of coffee he had brought.
"I cannot." Ignis mutters. "But brother, how could you mention our dead cousin in front of Aunt Mary." Lignum asked harshly.
"I… I do not know why. I didn't mean to bring those words up." Ignis replied humbly.
"Brother, if Flos is here, it can only spell trouble. You know this, and I know this. Aunt is the only one who has spent time with our sister. She is the only one who could know why." Lignum scolded Ignis.
"Yes. Yes, you're right. Damn, I blew that away, didn't I." Ignis sighed, shaking his head.
Lignum looked out the large window behind his brother's desk. The cold voice still stuck in his head. It did not take Ignis long to notice Lignum’s fear and worry. "Lignum, what's wrong?" Ignis asked.
"Brother, on my way here, I heard a dark and cold voice. It spoke of strange things. Is there a high-class monster on campus grounds? Even the 'Children Eaters' were gone." Lignum spoke softly.
"There was one long ago, but it shouldn't be here unless it's looking for a master… Not that it will find a strong gatekeeper." Ignis reassured.
"But what about Flos? Couldn't she help the monster?" Lignum asked curiously. "No, remember Lignum, she is not a named element." Ignis said solemnly. "If you say so." Lignum huff. Ignis smiled at Lignum and stood up. He walked to the other side of his desk. He gave his brother Lignum a pat on the back. "Come on, let's go for a walk. We need to meet some old friends." Ignis said he smiled encouragingly at Lignum.
Both boys walked silently through the campus, the cool air of the evening coming upon them, calming their hearts and minds. Willow followed but stopped after they came across the bench where the 'Children Eaters' used to hang out. Ignis slowly started to herd the hissing Willow from his spot.
They started to hear a little boy giggle in the air and dark aurora and a foul odor surrounding them. The little boy's voice began to sing. The little boy sang slowly and giggled. The boys finally started hearing the words.
'Oh, how cruel fate is.
It's here, once again, to collect its due.
It's coming straight for you
Fate knocks softly at your door
You can never escape its cold grasp
Dark hunters who seek change
But you cannot accept the truth
Fate for you is full of death
And you can never flee it
Dark hunters born from snowfall and an angel of death
A tale of death and pain has just begun.'
The song continued like this: Ignis began to emit a cold stare into the distance. The singing died down, but not the boy's laughter did not. Ignis started making Willow and Lignum walk again and hurrying them along. The little boy's song reminded Lignum of what the ghost voice said earlier.
Ahhh, finally new chapter. I lost hope in myself for awhile. But sadly while I was writing this a horrible joke appear in my head each time I typed Lignum. (🙃😅👍)
And a wonderful Harry Potter qoute always stuck in my head.
It's the scene where Harimone first meets Harry and Ron on the train and she fixes Harry's glasses.
But I hope you guys enjoyed this chapter.
The world is near the end. People have lost hope and have been living in a chaotic and dark world. Wars are never ending, people are like live stock to the rich and powerful.
One day from the depths of earth the most beautiful, awe inspiring towers appear. The people call them edens, but these edens have a dark and terrifying serect. Will these towers bring a new age, a new hope. Will they bring good and wise kings and queens. Or will the world finally end.
