The eye contact she had with Jesse at the end of the introduction had her simultaneously in joy and in anger. The joy had been fueled by the fact that he had eventually acknowledged her. And that was exactly what had stirred up the anger as well: he eventually looked at her. He eventually gave her attention. And still he had not offered a single explanation to her on why she was here. She thought about staying in her room, staying put and waiting patiently until Jesse would offer an explanation. Maybe it would come tomorrow already, but she really was not made for sitting and waiting. She had told herself to go to sleep, but who could sleep when you were in the mansion, mere meters away from the man who brought you to climaxes beyond imagination a few days ago?

That was exactly the reason why, when the house had gone quiet after 11PM, she had sneaked into the office of the tech center on the ground floor. It felt ridiculous to be sneaking, especially since this was where she worked, but no one had to tell her explicitly that she was not allowed here currently. She made her way to Sean's desk and crouched down, opening the drawers until she had found her phone that had been confiscated earlier today. She sat down on the floor and turned on her device, impatiently waiting for the thing to come to life and show her her missed messages. 

She unlocked her phone and opened her messages. Jesse had texted her. She opened it.

Sent at 1.25PM Jesse: Sorry I couldn't explain what was going on, you looked gorgeous. I know your phone's taken

That had been right after the introduction.

Sent at 5.52PM Jesse: Strangest thing happened, the plant on the 2nd floor shed shoes instead of leaves. Waiting for the dress to drop off your body

Her cheeks turned bright red. Shit, her shoes! She had forgotten all about them. And then her phone buzzed in her hand.

Sent at 11.17PM Jesse: First day and already breaking the rules?

She quickly closed the app and covered her mouth with her hand. She felt caught. And then her mouth formed a grin. Another message.

Sent at 11.17PM Jesse: Good girl, I knew you wouldn't cave

Enora quickly made her way to her own desk, opened the bottom drawer, retrieved a broken phone and put it in Sean's drawer with the other devices. She was not going to leave her phone here. She grabbed a charger and made her way back to her room. She turned off her phone and hid the charger and the phone in her closet and then she left her room once again. A minute later she opened the door to Jesse's quarters. His scent filled her nose immediately. She walked through the living area to his bedroom and her mouth dried when Jesse turned to her. He had been waiting for her, her shoes dangling from his left index finger.

"Weird plant indeed," she told him.
