Marc came home from work. He had a message that he’d been wanting to tell his loved ones. He decided to tell his long time friend, Marcel, first. He didn’t know how he wanted to tell him.
Marc chose to send his friend letters. He didn’t see his friend often. Eventually, with a response, he would tell his friend. But his friend didn’t respond too much. It seemed quite rare if he ever did.
After some weeks, Marc decided he would send short stories to his friend. He didn’t get a response. So he decided to send one more short story, but this story was somewhat of a letter. In the story, he wrote:
“Marcel. I have been wanting you to tell you something for months. I didn’t know how. You are quite the busy fellow. So I don’t want to stress you with this information. The doctors have found a unique type of cancer and haven’t given me long. My mind is affected and I get lost in thought, especially at night. My sight isn’t what it should be. When I saw the blood, that’s when I knew something wasn’t right. Eventually, you will see this message and you may want to ask me about it. But when you ask me, I will reply to you that it is only part of a story and that you have nothing to worry about. I leave these stories with you. I wasn’t able to live to accomplish my dream, but you can accomplish yours. You have been a vital part of my life and I will always love you, until my last breath and after.”
The story was sent and then Marc went on his porch and began playing a song he recently found. He really liked it. He sat and listened, hoping that one day his best friend would find some time and a quiet place so that he could enjoy the song too.
The End
