The best advice comes from those who are more experience. And a rule that has kept many safe, and Flos had no intention of disregarding such a rule. Of course, there have been times when that advice will end up causing more harm to you.
The reason why she trusted it so well this time is because it was advice from her brother, who just happens to happen to have more experience in this field. But she had no intention of trapping herself in a uniform that made her feel suffocated
Flos grabbed what best suited her style, and she did grab a pro-safety vest. More durable than any bulletproof vest. They were less bulky, lighter, and could hold more. The vests were very similar to combat vests.
She then grabbed four hunting knives, six kunai, two double-bladed kunai, ten shurikens, fifteen throwing needles, and one Walter PPK, with five magazines. She had now taken advice from her brother, and a two-hundred-year-old cat that said small is better for this tower.
The cat has been one of Flos's oldest friends since living with her aunt. This cat also knows how to enter towers freely, leaving that there is more to this cat than meets the eye. Flos had to rule out it was a monster, seeing how once they entered a tower, they could not leave it until sent back to the Nether World.
She wasn't sure if she could call Larua a friend yet. He was tricky to understand. He was like a kid on a sugar rush, while it also seemed he was a serious person, or a better term would be 'il gentlioumo' one you see in the movies too.
"Keke, little gattino, what are you doing? I'm so bored right now. Kekeke. Let's play a game of heads will roll." Larua moaned. "I'm getting ready. Or are you blind?" Flos sighed.
"I could be... Keke. I know; let's play dead man. We just need a body. Kekeke!"
Larua floated through the air, sighing and rolling around like a child would on the ground.
"I can't do that. I need to ensure I'm prepared. I'm pretty sure my new teammates will see me arrogant and prideful. And do you mean an actual body?" Flos asked like a distracted mother in the mall, looking for new clothes for her child. "Gattino, you are paying attention to me. Of course, I do. It gets boring waiting for something fun to happen. Keke. " he babied in reply to her question.
She stopped in her tracks, realizing what he meant by body and heads. "No, let's not do that, Larua. If you behave, I promise to play one card game with you at the end of the day." Flos knew what she was risking. Right now, she was risking her life, for she did not know if Larua could contain his excitement which would lead to her head falling from her neck. Or him learning patience and controlling that joy.
"Hmmm, my little gattino has something up her sleeve, or is she being honest? Keke! Oh, the excitement is rushing in. You promise, right, gattino, if you break it, you will learn quickly. That's a no, no." Laura spoke. He quickly grabbed her wrist with the mark and smiled maliciously. "I promise to Larua if he behaves, I shall play one card game of his choosing." Flos said in a commanding voice.
Her mark burned brightly while Larua and her maintained eye contact. He let go of her wrist, floating some distance away. He smiled victoriously at her before bowing and then popping off somewhere else. After he left, she felt a great shudder throughout her body. She gave a soft touch to her wrist, with a new promise to be kept.
She quickly finished her work in the armory, it was close to the evening now, and she needed to introduce herself. This would also allow her to eat with her teammates and hopefully grow close to them to ensure her safety. She could feel it in her bones that this story wasn't going to end happily.
She knew new candidates who introduced themselves prepared and ready could survive the night there at the headquarters. Many candidates who failed this always slept outside, soaked in freezing water.
She refused to be one of these poor victims.
She was running hard now, she needed to be back at building 13 before 5:30, or it was game over. She made it to Aedis Tristitia right at 4:30. "Thank heavens for this save. " she caught her breath and opened the doors, ready to meet her teammates for the very first time.
Hello dear readers new chapter up and out. And with a fun new word.
What is an il gentiloumo? Well it means gentleman. (mostly because I couldn't find a good slang word for hottie in Italian)
I hope this first part wasn't too short, (to be honest it was only 4,226 words long, so I'm guessing it was short. ) but you guys get to meet many new characters and one I have spent a long time developing, from his name to his back story.
The world is near the end. People have lost hope and have been living in a chaotic and dark world. Wars are never ending, people are like live stock to the rich and powerful.
One day from the depths of earth the most beautiful, awe inspiring towers appear. The people call them edens, but these edens have a dark and terrifying serect. Will these towers bring a new age, a new hope. Will they bring good and wise kings and queens. Or will the world finally end.
