“Who are they?” Javier asked Kobi.
“The twin deacons, they are ridiculously strong on their own, if you then put them together… I will say that they are 50 times stronger than Maraki.”
“I don’t want to put our burdens on you travelers, please eat your food, they are getting cold. The tab will be on the house.” The waiter smiled then she walked off.
Javier waited for some seconds, and then he stormed out of the restaurant. Kobi chased after him, “Where are you going to?” he asked. Javier gave him no reply, he just kept walking, and they walked through every street, corner, road until Javier halted in front of a church.
“Hell no bro, there are better ways to solve this.” Kobi said sweating profusely.
Javier walked right into the open gates of the church, this time Kobi didn’t follow him, he just stood outside with both of his hand on his waist.
“Are you here to pay your tithe?” A church worker asked Javier who walked past him ignoring his question.
The church is basically a big building that has a cross insignia on the roof. The compound has neatly trimmed grasses, with statues of saints placed on both sides of the pathway. Javier walked into the building; he opened the first room by the left halfway and snuck his head in. The dudes inside wore white, smoking and was playing card with bottles of beer all over the room.
“I am looking for the twin dickons” Javier asked.
“Oh the deacons… they should be at the cathedral.” One replied him.
“Where’s that?”
“Just keep walking straight, you’ll see a big door, open it and enter… in case you want to pay your”
Javier shut the door, he then walked towards the door, shoulders held high, fist clenched. He grabbed the door knob, turned it, then pushed the door open to see:
Two men sitting down on a chair, with a table separating them, the table is filled with different delicacies of food, they are stuffing themselves with said food. The table is situated on the pulpit, the two men turned to Javier the moment he entered, then they stared at each other with the ‘Did you bring him here?’ eyes. The two have the same brown hair color, their faces was exactly the same, round and intense the only difference between the two was that one had a goatee and the other had a full beard.
“Are you the dickons?!” Javier yelled.
“Did this kid just say dick?” The one with the goatee mumbled to the other spitting out both words and food particles from his mouth.
“I doubt that… he wouldn’t dare utter such profanity in the house of the lord.” The fully bearded one said, then he turned to Javier, “We are the Deacon, what do you want?”
“I’m here to make you two pay!”
“Pay what? Doesn’t he know we don’t pay tithe… oh he wants to pay tithe, please kindly bring your money forward brother.” The one with the goatee said.
Javier starts running towards them
“A kid enthusiastic about paying tithe, I like him.” The one with the goatee nods with a smile.
Javier leaps into the air, “Air punch!” he landed with a punch on the dude with goatee. And he spat out all the food in his mouth shocked. “Are you mad?!” He yelled, the punch only moved his head slightly. Javier stared at his hand, something was not right, the punch was supposed to blow him away. He was still lost in thought when a kick from the bearded one sent him far away from the pulpit.
Javier bounced three times of the ground before crashing into the chairs in the church. He got up to his feet, made triangle sign with his fingers, and then he looked at the bearded dude through the triangle. “Air Lance!” he punched the air, and absolutely nothing happened.
“You idiot, are you trying to use magic?” The bearded one scoffed, “Don’t you know that your magic powers nullifies the moment you step foot into the church grounds? There is no place for the devil here.”
“Huh?”
A large net shot out from the ceiling, and it swallowed up Javier who just stood dumbfounded.
“If I can’t use magic then I will defeat you both with my bare hand!” Javier tried to run towards but fell to the ground instead with black smoke coming out of his mouth.
“That metallic net that fell on you has a 220 volts electric current surging through it, I am surprised you are still alive.” The bearded dude said, Javiers vision slowly faded into complete darkness.
Javier woke up to being tied up on a stake placed on a bed made of dried up stick, his got up to his feet, “Where is this?”
“First time?” Javier turned around to see the yellow haired guy, Zoruto, standing on a stool, his hands tied up behind his back and a noose around his neck.
“Nope, how about you?”
“Nah”
“I don’t know, but those guys might.” Zoruto gestures to the people standing on the edge of the walls, all of them had drawn bows with arrows pointed at them.
“Hey, where are we?!” Javier yelled at the people standing on the walls, they replied him with an arrow shot just above his head. ‘I can’t use my magic… so I am probably still at the church…’
“So, what brought you here?” Zoruto asked.
“Same thing that brought you bro, yeah before I forget… Will you join my guild?”
“What guild?”
“It doesn’t have a name yet”
“I have to refuse man.”
“Why?”
“Dude I don’t even know who you are!”
“Oh yeah,” Javier sighs, “My name is Javier Elvis, I am a magician, will you join my guild?”
“No.”
The full beard and goatee dudes walked into the place, “My name is Aus, and this is my brother Ilas.” The full bearded dude said. “I wanted to give you the courtesy of knowing our names. Ninja, magician any last words?”
“I will teach you both a lesson!!” Javier yelled.
“Since you both have nothing to say,” Aus turned to Ilas, “Someone throw me a torch!”
A stick light with fire was thrown over the fence to Aus, he caught it.
Then he kicked the stool Zoruto was standing away, the nook tighten around Zoruto’s neck stopping air flow into his body. Zoruto dangles and shakes, fighting violently for air. Aus then walked to where Javier was and lit the wooden bed on fire.
