Hee-So was taken aback and could only stare at the Alpha before him.  Dae-Hyun was never the type to make a joke or mess around with anyone.  This meant that Dae-Hyun was serious when he asked for Hee-So’s hand.  Hee-So sat up with his back facing Dae-Hyun. He struggled to hold back the tears welling up in his eyes.  A minute passed before Hee-So began to sob quietly, placing his hands over his eyes.   Dae-Hyun got up and sat next to him, embracing him, and letting plenty of soothing pheromones fill the air.

Hee-So let his hands fall to his side as the scent of grass after a rainfall filled the air.  The pheromones Dae-Hyun was releasing did two things.  The first was it soothed Hee-So and the second was that it had feelings of love mixed in.  Pheromones were an amazing thing.  Alphas and Omegas could send out so many different emotions, and even warnings.  Love, hate, stay-away, protective, anger, fear, and so many more.  All conveyed with pheromones.

As Dae-Hyun held Hee-So only a couple thoughts repeated in his mind: My Omega, and I love this man with all my being.  These thoughts were being conveyed strongly through pheromones.  Hee-So began to release his own pheromone scent of wisteria flowers.

He chuckled and mumbled, “We could make any room or place smell like a wisteria forest after rainfall. “

Dae-Hyn laughed and held Hee-So tighter.   Hee-So blushed upon realizing he had been heard.

“Our home will smell like that once you move in.”

Before Hee-So could respond, there was a knock at the door.

“Papa?” The door handle jiggled, “Why is the door locked?” Jeong-Jin asked.

Both men burst out in laughter that echoed.

“We should leave for the night.  I need to finish locking up.” Hee-So stated as he got up to get dressed.

He felt a dripping sensation and blushed, “Ah, it’s leaking out.”

Dae-Hyun got up and grabbed some paper towels over a utility sink and began to gently wipe Hee-So’s thighs and hole.  This action made Hee-So blush more.

“I, I can do it myself!”  Hee-So exclaimed, embarrassed.

Hee-So snatched the towels from his lover’s hands and quickly wiped up the mess on his body.  Dae-Hyun finished getting dressed before Hee-So had finished, and gently rubbed his head and gave him a kiss on the cheek.

“I’ll go out and keep our son company.  Take your time.” Dae-Hyun said softly.

He then unlocked the door and walked out, closing the door quietly behind him.

Hee-So quickly finished up and went out to the main area to join them.  Dae-Hyun was coloring with Jeong-Jin in the corner where Jeong-Jin’s favorite bean bag chair was.   Dae-Hyun was sitting on the floor next to the low table between them.  Both had smiles from ear to ear and were clearly enjoying each other’s company.

“Umm, Ajusshi?” Jeong-Jin asked inquisitively, “How do you know my papa?”

“What makes you think we already know each other?”  Dae-Hyun asked with a slight smirk.

“Ajusshi, I’m four not stupid.”  Jeong-Jin said with a straight face.

Dae-Hyun let out a loud laugh.  Even with the genetic central heterochromia, with this attitude, there was no doubt Jeong-Jin was his son. Hee-So walked over.

“Time to go, Jin-ah, pack up your things.  Papa will turn of the lights, and then we can leave.”

Jeong-Jin put his crayons and drawing pad in his small backpack.  A few had rolled away, so Dae-Hyun picked them up and placed them in the backpack.

               “Here you go Jin-ah.”

The sudden addition of ‘-ah’ to his name made Jeong-Jin pause and stare at Dae-Hyun.  He then turned to look at Hee-So.  Sensing his son’s confusion, Hee-So turned off the far lights and walked over to his son, picking him up and holding him in his arms.  Dae-Hyun got up and held onto Jeong-Jin’s backpack.

“Jin-ah, Papa will explain everything to you when we get home.  This Ajusshi’s name is Choi Dae-Hyun.  You can call him Hyun-ssi[1]. He is someone very important to Papa and to you.  Will you give Papa some time tonight?”

Jeong-Jin nodded and asked, “Will you buy Fried Chicken for dinner?”

               Dae-Hyun and Hee-So chuckled.

               “Yes, Papa will buy.”

“Yay!!!” Jeong-Jin exclaimed excitedly, “Then is Hyun-ssi also going to come with us?”

“If your Papa will allow it.” Dae-Hyun replied as he glanced at Hee-So with puppy-dog eyes.

Ugh! You and your handsome face, Hee-So thought to himself.  His inner self held up a clenched fist up.

“Of course, Hyun-ssi can join us,” Hee-so flashed a slightly annoyed smile at Dae-Hyun.

A loud growl came from Hee-So’s stomach, which made him blush from embarrassment. Jeong-Jin laughed loudly.

“Haha, Papa, I guess you’re very hungry!”

With just that one sound, all three were laughing. Hee-So carried Jeong-Jin as he turned off the remaining lights.  He passed Jeong-Jin to Dae-Hyun so he could lock the front door.  He then placed the keys in his pocket and motioned for them to go left.  Hee-So thought about the laughter and realized it had been a long time since he was truly able to laugh to the point his gut hurt.  Somehow, Dae-Hyun returning to his life reminded him that something small and simple could make one’s day.

[1] ‘-ssi’: A suffix meaning ‘mister’ like ‘Ajusshi’ and can be used both formal and informally.
