“A couple today was found dead in their own apartment late last night.” The train cart rattles as it glides through the city. “The two victims were once again found with all their blood drained from their body.” Teruko pays no heed to the announcement from the television in the train cart. She taps to the beat of a song with her foot. One ear is plugged with an ear bud while her other ear is open to hear the world around her. “This has been the 5th case that has had all the victims found with no blood in their circulatory system. Why is the killer doing this? What are they doing with the victim’s blood? And most importantly, when will they be stopped?”

A loud cry from the train’s announcement system drowns out the news anchor’s speech. “Now arriving at Inaba Station. Now arriving at Inaba Station.” Teruko’s grip tightens on the handle that allows passengers to stand in the train cart. The other hand hangs loosely on the strap of her backpack. Before long, the train comes to a stop to let the passengers off. Teruko steps off of the train and into the terminal. Inaba station is one of the busiest terminals since it's close to the center of the city. Teruko makes her way down from the terminal platform and into the streets of the city. Luckily her destination is not far. But still in the short distance she has to walk, she bumped into a man begging on the street. “Please ma’am, do you have any food or change to spare?” Teruko tried to ignore the man but he basically blocked her as she tried passing by him. “Uh sorry, I don't have any on me right now, so sorry.” She brushes off the man and continues to walk towards the courtyard of the building in front of her.

The Mooncell Corporation’s Head Office Building. Today was Teruko’s first day at her new job after all, and today wasn't a good day. Protesters were out front of the building with signs and shouting many things to the guards posted outside to handle any wrong doers. “Fix the earth, don't abandon it!” Stop the war from happening!” “It's your fault that the earth is out of resources!” Teruko walks past the protesters towards one of the guards on duty. The guard holds out his hand to stop Teruko from going any further. “ID please.” Teruko reaches into her bag and grabs her ID to hand over to the guard. Right before she was handing it off, just behind her a protester comes up and starts throwing fists with one of the guards. The one tending to Teruko rushes towards the scene and quickly gets the attacker down onto the ground. Teruko stands there in shock before someone taps on her back. “Sorry you had to see that, Miss Saturnine.” Teruko turns back around to face the voice that spoke to her. To no surprise it's Riley, this time in more of a lab attire than a suit. “It's fine Riley, pretty used to seeing that kind of thing nowadays.” Riley nods before turning around towards the building. “Come, let’s go inside and show you around.” Teruko follows in toe into the building.

The main lobby is a sight for sore eyes compared to the outside world. It sparkles and glows in cleanliness when just a mere 100 feet behind is trashed from the protestors. “Wow, this sure is something else.” Riley continues to walk to the front desk. “This will be your new home from here on out.” Riley stops and whispers to the lady at the reception desk before turning around and facing Teruko. “We have a few things to run through but before that we have to get you your Mooncell ID to get around here. Before Teruko could notice, the reception lady had left and then reappeared with a card in hand. The lady walks towards Teruko and hands her the plastic card. Teruko has the card placed in her hand and examines it. It somehow has a photo of her on it along with a lot of personal information like birth date. “Guess you all do know everything in this city huh?” “Like I said Miss Saturnine, we have our ways. That is your Identification and Access Card. It will get you inside the building as well as our other facilities for our employees. This will also take you to your floor along with a few others that will work closely with you, like the Cyro Team.” “I see, so wait, does that mean I have my own floor?” Riley gestures to Teruko to follow her towards the main elevator in the lobby. “Like I said Miss Saturnine, You will be the head of the Simulation Team.” “Oh man, this is bigger than I thought Didn't actually think about the job." Riley swipes her own card and the elevator shoots down to the lobby. Both girls enter and Riley presses the floor number. “The Simulation Team is located on the -24th Floor. That is where the main research and development will be taking place, along with your office.” Teruko’s face turns in shock as Riley states the location of her new office. “Wait, this place also goes down? Even with like over 100 floors above ground?” “It does go quite the bit down, but I can't currently disclose to you exactly how far it goes down.” “Oh I see.”

The elevator dings as it stops on the -24th floor. The doors open up to a small lobby with about 5 people waiting around the desk in the center of the lobby. “Good Morning Miss Fujimura!” The lobby erupts from the 5 people that were waiting patiently just a second ago. “Good Morning Simulation Team. Today is a very important day. With the departure of our last head of the Sim Team, The Clocktower has been hard at work to find a new head for the Sim Team. Today I’d like to introduce you all to your new lead as of today, Teruko Saturnine.” Teruko walks forward and gives a small wave to everyone. “Hiya, thanks for having me?” She trails off at the end of her sentence.

The 5 people line up to introduce themselves to Teruko. “Nice to meet you boss, You can call me Akira. I mostly work with hands on electronics, so I'll be working on the physical side of the project." Akira gives Teruko a firm handshake before stepping back for the next person to step up. “Hi! Teruko right!? The name is Miya, I'm mostly the Receptionist for the floor but also just your personal errand runner so you are gonna have me around at all times!" She shakes Teruko’s hand in excitement and runs along to where Akira waits. The next person steps up. “It’s Rei.” She doesn't extend her hand but instead pushes up her glasses. “I am the lead Programmer.” And like that she takes her leave and waits with the others. The next person starts with a handshake. “Kenji at your service as your lab rat. Test on me all you want.” Teruko gives a small look of disgust as he walks away. The last person bows towards Teruko. “My name is Ginya. I mostly do research along with the paperwork for the department. A pleasure to work with you.”

“Alright you are all currently dismissed. Miss Saturnine, let me take you to your office now.” Riley starts walking towards the main door behind the reception desk in the lobby. As Teruko passes through the door, she reads the nameplate on the door, which to her surprise is already her name.” Riley waits for Teruko to enter before closing the door behind her. “Welcome to your office. You are going to be in here for a lot of your days.” Teruko lets her gaze wander in the office. There isn't much around in the room. The shelves are empty and the desk is barren other than the computer and nameplate. There are a few generic paintings but other than that nothing. Teruko picks up the name plate and lets her finger run over the engraved letters. Teruko Saturnine. Head of Simulation. She gently slides the plate back onto the desk before something completely engulfs her interest. Behind the desk were windows that were glowing a bright white. Teruko walks towards them before realizing what was behind them. Her gaze goes down out the window, the office overlooks the main workshop floor where research and development will happen. To one side of the large spacious room were small cubicles where she can see her colleagues working away on their computers. They nest in a corner of the side they are on while the rest of the workshop is mostly empty with supplies littered around. Riley comes behind Teruko as she peers out the window. “This will grow into something revolutionary. And the Clocktower believes in your ability to make it become a reality.” “Clocktower?” Teruko turns around to face Riley. “The Brass at the top. The public started calling them The Clocktower since the top of the Mooncell Corp has a giant clock for the city.” “Ah, I’ve heard about that from time to time. Didn't know it was actually what they were called.” “They simply adopted it from the masses.” Both girls walk away from the window and take a seat in their respective positions. Teruko at the head of the desk while Riley in the guest chairs of the office.

“From here on out, you have a lot of responsibility as the Head of Simulation. One thing you must do is keep tabs on all your operations, or keep a log of everything happening in a sense. This must be updated daily as the Clocktower reads over your progress. You can do all this from your computer.” Riley proceeds to help Teruko log into her computer and teach her how to document her progress along with how to do a lot of her other responsibilities as the Head of Simulation.
