Afterward, the day starts peacefully... though Cordelia doesn’t see Bastion anywhere for a long while.
She only finds out hours later that he has gone to talk with the leaders again.
He left early in the morning, and it seems he won’t be back till the afternoon. But it doesn’t sound like anything serious... just the usual check on witches.
Some of the fairies get along with Bastion, and they tend to talk his ears off...
That’s no surprise, but Cordelia can’t feel relaxed unless everyone is close by. And it’s always hard to handle her worries.
As usual, she can’t focus even as she walks down a corridor with Camelia and Selene.
The other two are chatting, feeling relaxed thanks to a calm day. But Cordelia is quiet all along.
However, that doesn’t last much longer. Not today...
“Hmmm? There is a commotion there...” Camelia notes, and the three witches’ attention immediately turns toward a crowded clearing.
There are many fairies, so the group wants to avoid it at first.
But there are also many witches gathered, which is unusual.
In the end, Cordelia and the others slowly get closer, feeling both worried and curious. It doesn’t seem like something they should ignore.
And so, they agree without a word and try to get to the front of the crowd.
Cordelia and Camelia flinch when they spot an injured witch in the center of the commotion.
Meanwhile, Selene’s expression turns into a glare. And she starts moving, walking around, and talking with the other witches.
She’s trying to understand what is going on... and it doesn’t take long to get answers.
“That witch seems to have attacked a smaller fairy domain not far away,” Selene explains once she’s back. “Or, at least, that’s what the leaders have said...”
Selene has a scornful look. She doubts everything that comes from the leaders.
On the other hand, Cordelia is troubled.
The witch kneeling on the ground is unfamiliar... and her eyes are cold and empty... but she still can’t fully believe what they said.
She feels sadness and pity while watching the older witch, who has strange black and white hair and a childish doll hanging from her belt.
The poor woman is obviously hurt - and it’s not a light injury - but she’s still restrained and forced to kneel on the ground while several guards watch her cautiously.
And it doesn’t seem like anything good is waiting for her.
The Three Witches is a Prequel to Reimei no Gakuen, a fantasy visual novel released not long ago by me ;D
You can read The Three Witches separately. I've written it in a way so that you don't need to play the game first. But if you want to know the full story... how it continues, check out Reimei no Gakuen.
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1881950/Reimei_no_Gakuen__OtomeVisual_Novel/
This one will tell the background stories of the antagonists, and it's set years before the main story. Prepare for magic, love, and angst! Remember... this isn't a light-hearted fairy tale.
