"So, this is one of the dungeons in Demon's Territory." Urayama says staring at the hedge that led into a mine. She turned to look back at Demon Lord Alban. Thanks to Rallmul he didn't leave without a short sword or any type of armor.
How he found something to fit a child-like body like that is beyond her. "Must be. It's my first time entering a dungeon, should we head in?" He asked.
Urayama have never been in one either, "what did that demon say? This is a ten level dungeon? I wonder what kind of monsters we'll be dealing with?"
Alban stepped toward the entrance, "I was told that we'll be dealing with slimes and giant bugs on the first level. Let's not waste time. As a Demon King, I should have battle experience."
She bit back her retort in calling him a child and what he should be doing was playing like any normal kid in the world. Of course, such words would make sense if he were any normal kid to begin with.
"Let's head in." Alban says.
Urayama nods and led the way into the dungeon mine. The first thing they encountered was a large opening with minecart tracks leading into various tunnels. "It's just an old abandoned mine. Don't look like anything interesting here." Urayama says.
"We're just at the entrance. Let's go through the tunnel up ahead. It looks like the only tunnel worth entering." Alban said this because his senses as a demon was reacting to the mana through that tunnel.
Though the presence was weak, it was still better than not knowing where to go. The sound of something moving ahead alerted them, "oh, it's a slime!" Urayama announces.
No wonder why the feel of mana was weak, it's a low level monster. With her strength Urayama could take out a slime with her bare fist, which is how the slimes were executed without her leaving him a single kill. Noticing what she had done, Urayama stepped aside, "I apologize, My Lord. You may kill the last four." she says.
Alban drew his short sword, while also reminding himself to never go out raiding with Urayama ever again. They swept through the first floor without any problems. It was only because there were mostly low leveled slimes and a few goblins throughout the first floor. When they reached a set of stairs leading down, Alban had only leveled up four times.
He knew this because he could feel himself getting stronger. He must be around level ten now, since back at the palace he had reached level seven after meditating. "Looks like the way down to the second floor. I'm psyched to see what monsters we'll be dealing with." Urayama says excitedly.
"Don't go on a hunting spree. I need to evolve to the next level." Alban tells her.
"I understand, My Lord." Though he was certain that she didn't understand at all.
Just as he had thought originally, the second floor had more goblin monsters with only a few slimes this time. But he barely got to kill any. Alban sat on a boulder and watched Urayama go completely crazy. It's to his understanding that he definitely had a battle junkie as a subordinate.
After she managed to calm down, Urayama realized what she did it again. She laughs nervously, "oh my, I apologize!" She says. Though she didn't look the least bit sorry. Was she doing it on purpose?
In Urayama's thoughts, having the lord get his hands dirtied was bad parenting. No matter how hard she tries, watching some one with Demon Lord Alban's childish features kill someone, seemed a bit too much. It's downright frightening seeing blood splatter at the hands of a child. She shivers at the memory.
Yeah, let's not let him get too many kills. If possible, she wouldn't let him get any, but there's no doubt that he'd have her punished after realizing it. Alban watched her suspiciously, but he could not get evidence that she was doing this on purpose. Since every now and again he's able to get some kills.
"We cleared the second floor, let's keep it up!" Urayama celebrates.
By the end of the night, they managed to get down to the last floor where the boss room was located. Alban was now at level eighteen, after the boss fight he'll reach level twenty and can evolve to the next level. Maybe he can stop the summons from treating him like he's a fragile kid instead of the actual Demon King.
"Alright, My Lord. Once we head in, you should let me..." She froze at the expression in Demon Lord Alban's eyes. He was warning her, but why did it look super cute? That aura coming off him was not though. If not for her protective skin barrier, she's certain that she'd be kneeling. Even that was having a tough time not breaking.
"I'll be taking the lead." He told her, "do not interfere, I won't hesitate to kill you."
She looked away. That gaze meant he was not playing around. Times like these make her remember her place. "Yes, I'll remember that." She says.
Both of them entered the room, at first there were no signs of a boss-like monster.
Something was lurking in the shadows waiting to attack the intruders who dared enter its domain. Because its darkm we can only see its tail and glowing white eyeballs that stared down its prey.
