“Just like you said, we can discuss the things for which you had called me while eating. So can we focus on that?” She said in an emotionless tone as always.

“Sure.”

“Are you having any difficulty adjusting here? I mean your team as well.”

“It's the first day today, Mr Roy. As of now everything’s good.”

“Mr. Roy? Muskan when we are alone you can call me Jay. Please don't treat me so unfamiliar. I can explain everything that happened 10 years back. Please give me-”

“We’re at work. Let’s be professional here.  And as for the justification for ten years ago, there is no need for it now. We have come ten years ahead, so let's live in the present. Thanks for the lunch.I have prepared some reports related to designers and budgets that I would like to share with you. I'll send them to Ted by the evening."

After expressing her thoughts, Muskaan put the lid on the lunch box and left. Leaving Jay with a broken heart behind.

He felt hurt, but he understood that this was the consequence of his own actions and his love for Muskaan made him accept her displeasure.

Outside the room, Muskaan also took some time to compose herself. Though she could appear harsh or stern in front of the world, deep down, she was still that little girl from ten years ago, who kept her broken heart hidden from everyone under a tough exterior.

Break was over, and everyone was back to their work. Soon, the day was over, and almost everyone left the office. Muskan had also finished her report, which she had informed Jay about.

She got up, packed her bags and left the office after turning off the lights. Ted’s desk was placed outside Jay’s office on the floor above them. She went towards the elevator. As it opened, Ted and Jay were already in there.

Jay wanted to talk to Muskan, using the excuse of informing her about the time. It was originally his plan. But fate seemed to be particularly kind to him today, so he ran into her right outside the elevator.

Ted was also with him, as they were going to meet Muskan together. She was going to him so that he could handover the file to Jay. But as now they met directly so there was no need to use Ted as a middle man. Therefore, she handed the file directly to Jay instead of Ted.

Turning back and handing him the file, she said, "Here's the report I was talking about. I've prepared the model and task chart according to our company's procedure and requirements. If you need to make any changes, do let me know."

After saying this, she turned towards the elevator gate again. Their office was on the highest floor, so it would take her some time to reach the ground floor. It was a great opportunity for Jay to start a conversation with Muskan.

"But the office hours have already ended," Jay tried to get a response, but there was no reply.

Attempting again, he said, "Since it’s you who is giving me the file and you've put in so much effort in it, I’ll take the file." With his signature playful  smile, he took the file from her hands..
