The sound of shattering glass filled the cafe as a young boy, no more than thirteen, burst through the door, his face twisted in terror. Aaron looked up, startled, as the boy ran towards the center of the cafe, his breaths coming in ragged gasps.
"It's an alien!" he shouted, his voice high and frantic. "An evil alien! It's killing people in the street! It killed a bunch of children!”
Aaron's heart pounded in his chest as he rose to his feet, his mind racing. Could this be the moment he had been training for? The moment he would be called upon to use his superhuman powers to protect the people of his city? He took a deep breath and tried to calm the young boy down, placing a hand on his shoulder. "Hey, it's okay, kid. We're going to figure this out together. You got a name?”
The kid took a few deep breaths, trying to control his shaking hands. “Billy… Billy is my name.”
“You’re doing great, Billy. Now, what happened out there?” Aaron asks the frightened boy.
"I was with my friends in Central Park, and we saw this thing fly down from the sky. It looked like a monster from a movie, with a long tail and glowing eyes. It attacked some people, and then it killed some kids. We ran away, and then I came here,” Billy said still shaking.
"Okay, Billy, listen to me carefully. I need you to take care of the people inside the coffee shop, and I will check out this alien in Central Park," Aaron said, trying to calm the young boy down. Billy took another deep breath and nodded.
