An owl sitting on a tree branch near the window of young master Nova fluttered with fright as the phone rang loudly. Nova, too, woke up with a start and looked at the clock, it said one o’clock. He picked up the call, “Who’s this?”

“M-Mr. Cash?”, said the house keeper of the Saori family.

“Oh! Mr. House Keeper, what’s the matter?”, Nova was slightly surprised.

“The mafia…Kazan,” muttered the house keeper.

“Mafia?”

“M-mafia…”

“Mafia what?”

“The mafia…”

Nova was running out of patience, “Look here, I don’t have time for playing. It’s one in the morning! If you are drunk, go drunk dial your wife! That would be some real fun!”

“No, Mr. Cash!”, he shouted, “Take a look at the news! The abduction of Kazan has made the headlines!”

“WHAT!”

Nova sprinted to the television and turned it on.

BREAKING NEWS: Kazan, the ambassador for XX Cosmetics, has been abducted by a most notorious mafia gang.

Nova took a minute to process the new fed information, then he said, “I am going to the police. I gotta hang up now”, he grabbed his coat and sped to the local police station.

It was just a minute drive to the station. Nova stormed in and said, “I want to meet the highest official present here now!”

The constable at the entrance looked up to tell off the man who had the audacity to storm in the station and shout demands at the break of dawn, but stopped himself as he saw a very distressed Nova Lan Cash.

“Mr. Cash?”, he said, “The inspector is here.”

Nova rushed to the inspector and stood there staring at him while he said, “Welcome, Mr. Cash! How are you? How is the Chief Justice doing?”

“Are you doing anything at all? Should I take the case to the higher ups to make you work?”, Nova said calmly, yet fiercely.

The inspector looked at Nova for a moment and considered what to say.

“There are a bunch of cops in the field. Plus, the XX building is out of my jurisdiction.”, he said at last.

“Then you are of no use”, said Nova and called Aoi.

“Tell me”, she said in a business-like tone.

“You aware of the situation?”

“Yes”

“The Chief Justice must be contacted, for the quick movement of the defense department of course.”

“I am on it”

“I will get the Commissioner involved”
