Gareicht got up out of his bed, and already saw Ellava in the kitchen. He paused for a moment, took a deep breath and told her "Good morning Ellava."
Her body turned, face flushed, eyes averted away from his gaze.
"G-good morning."
"Are you okay?" He asked her, placing his hand on her forehead, "You're a little warm, are you coming down with a cold?"
She shook her head.
"Well, I'll go into town just in case and get some medicine, since human mana is too weak to cure you."
"Mhm." She nodded, and turned her face away from Gareicht, "Will you be here for breakfast?"
"Yeah, I'll go after, what's for breakfast?"
"Oh I made some yogurt with chopped fruit this morning, there's also some sliced bread."
"Sounds yummy," He came up behind her.
Her body jumped a bit, Is...is he doing this on purpose? Is he making fun of me, but he seems to be acting normal. I see, I'm over-thinking everything, I'm just not used to physical contact--
"Ellava." He broke her free of her thoughts, "Are you going to eat?"
"Huh? Oh." She looked down at her plate and began to eat her fruited yogurt.
"You sure you don't have a fever, you're still flushed."
"I-I'm okay." She stammered, eating more of her yogurt so she could get away with just nodding instead of vocally responding.
"Hmm." Gareicht went back to his food, and once he was done he walked towards the entrance.
Once he was out the door, she seemed to lose all strength as she let out the deepest of sighs, "I feel like I can finally breath. I need to get better at dealing with physical contact." She went back to cleaning the dishes and the rest of the cathedral to get her mind off of things.
Gareicht went down the path again, and looked for a medicinal shop. Once he found one, the labels were all in Elven so he had to ask the clerk to translate. Once he found one for fevers, he paid for it and left.
"I should have her teach me Elven." He thought out-loud and then something caught his eye at a street vendor. It was a music box.
He walked over to the vendor and asked if it worked and if he play it.
"Buying a gift for your girlfriend?" The street vendor asked him.
"She's not my girlfriend."
I expected him to blush at least a little. The vendor was a bit awestruck.
"I do care for her though." Gareicht smiled and asked the vendor how much it was. Once the payment was received he picked it up and started to walk back towards the cathedral. Once he arrived back he noticed it was even more spotless than before, and she was still cleaning.
"Ellava." His eyes bugged out a little, "Why're you working yourself to death!?"
She turned, "No, it's just everything seemed so dirty today."
"Did someone barge in to steal the spear again?" His facial expression seemed so done.
She continued to look at the floor, "No..."
"Ellava," He spoke softly, and kneeled by her, "Could you look up at me for a moment?"
She made a weird noise with her mouth, and slowly rose her head up, her face and ears still pink.
"Wh-what is it...?" She stammered again, her body trying to shuffle back to cleaning the floor.
"I have something for you." He grabbed the music box and put it in her hands, she looked down at it with curious eyes, "Go ahead and open it." Once she lifted up the top part of the box, music started to play from it.
"Is this...a music box? You didn't have to..." She started to rub her eyes.
"But I wanted to, I don't know when your birthday is and you don't either right, so how about we make it today?"
"Th-thank you." She softly whispered.
"You're welcome." He smiled as he patted her head again, her face turned a dark red again and with all that blood rushing to her head she ended up fainting, "I KNEW IT! YOU DO HAVE A FEVER!"
He brought her to her bedroom and set her to sleep, putting the music box on her table, along with the fever medication.
"Good night, Ellava." As he closed the door and returned to his room, he turned towards the wall that was adjacent to her room and just stared that way for awhile, presumably worried about her.
The next day, as they were eating, it was a pleasant time and then suddenly Ellava turned her focus on him.
"Hey Gareicht," Ellava smiled.
"Hm? What is it Ellava?" Gareicht pondered.
"Since you got me this, we have musical accompaniment for dancing now." Her smile beamed at him and he moved his gaze away from her with a very pained, "Great..."
Her delight continued and with her beaming smile she said, "We can go ahead and start after we're done eating."
Girl, you're going to give me indigestion, He sighed and then looked up at her, "It's not good to start physical activities right after eating."
"Gareicht...are you just saying that to get out of it...?" She gave him another soulless stare and he jerked which resulted in her puffing up her cheeks, "Gareicht!"
