The Forgotten Age

The Land in the Mountains

The Land in the Mountains

Sep 04, 2023

The large red fish appeared from the water, looked at the people on the shore and swiftly returned to the water. The two men looked at one another, it was a strange sight. They are a rare thing in these parts.

"How?" the first asked.

"I have no clue," the second replied.

"There is no way."

"There is a way."

"But in these parts?"

"More than strange."

The first appeared once again and disappeared. The large wolf looked at the valley down below. A Vallen looked strange at the sight of the people gathered.

The group of armor men appeared from the mist, their swords clinging. They stand ready. The battle starts. Howls of furry echo. Shields bash. Swords clash. A man dressed in rich robes looks across the field. There is still a chance for victory.

The first man looked at the fort behind him. The second one moved forward. Across the small stream remains of a tower dominate the surrounding.

Lord Jabu stood happy his plan going smoothly. A samurai passed nearby.

Outside, workers were constantly working on repairing the storm-damaged buildings. Nearby them, on the dock, the workers were preparing, moving and loading goods on the many barges that were anchored there. Fishermen were gathering their big harvest.

On the other side of the mountain, the crumbling walls of the forts were eroding into oblivion, beyond repair. The gateways were destroyed, staircases were damaged beyond expected.

A few guards stood, doing their daily routine. There was nothing else to say. They are used to give a false impression of continuity. It was always like that.

A samurai watched, contempt. Everything of this will soon be his.

He was more than sure about that, his karma was good.
