While in the midst of their tune, they saw the door fly off inside the cathedral, what looked like black fire surrounding the door. Quickly, Ellava cast the barrier spell to protect Gareicht and herself from the flames.
She saw three men at the door, oddly distinct in style, and had a feeling they were different from the others. All three of them wore a different type of mask, there was the gas mask, a black cloth mask and the last one looked to be made out of metal and could also be some type of gas mask.
"Are you ready to play?" They smiled menacingly.
One with a case came forward, he had rust-colored hair, wore the regular looking gas mask, and pulled his instrument out of the case. While Gareicht and Ellava prepared themselves, he took what seemed to be a violin out of the case.
Were they...talking to him instead of us? They were bewildered.
However when Ellava saw the shape of the violin, it's front being the shape of a skull she quickly turned to Gareicht and told him, "Cover your ears! It's a cursed object!"
Gareicht quickly did as instructed, but even covering his ears, the screeching noise was so hard to ignore, it was bad enough that hearing the song could kill you, but having the violinist play it so terribly made it even worse.
That's when the one dressed in black with the bird at his side came forward, "Niji," he said and black flames spiraled out, instantly shattering the barriers. Ellava shocked, quickly blocked the attack with her spear, "Ellava" Gareicht wanted to shout out, but the noise was so mind-numbing that even standing still hurt, when he fell to his knees, he felt the presence of the last one right in front of him.
"Such lovely eyes, give them to me." He said it in such an eerie tone that Gareicht wasn't sure if he had any sanity left.
He dodged, sluggishly out of his warpath.
"Aiden! Leave your hobby for later! Focus on the reason we're here!"
"Tch!" The eyeball freak clucked his teeth.
That was when the violinist suddenly stopped, a string broke.
"Goddammit Vincent! You're too rough with my strings! You broke one again!" The violin, being a cursed object, had its own identity, even though he tried not to, Gareicht was quite surprised to see a violin talking--yelling in fact.
"Relax, I brought spare strings."
"This kid." The violin grumbled.
"But you chose me didn't you?" Vincent's voice was serious.
"But I didn't think you'd be this bad." The violin grumbled again underneath its supposed breath.
"Well I'm the only one that can withstand your cursed mana, so you're stuck with me." Vincent, even though he was wearing a mask, seemed to smile mischievously underneath that gas mask of his.
Aiden kept chasing Gareicht around, and Kira and Niji pretty much kept Ellava in a corner.
That was when the violin's ear-wrenching music began again.
"AGHHHH!" Gareicht screamed in pain.
"Gareicht!" Ellava called out to him, but had to quickly return her gaze to her opponent.
"Keep your eyes on me, I'm your opponent." Kira spoke again, and when Ellava tried to stab him with the spear, he used Niji's black fire, which was so thick that it consumed the spearhead within itself.
Is this...fire from the depths of Grisma? She thought.
That was when a sudden red light burst into the room, in the shape of curse markings.
Instinctively the three of them jumped back.
And within that red light, all they could hear was a man's maniacal laughing.
