Cooper Black started out as a sequel to Action Heroes, my first novel-worthy story. Back in February 2016, I came up with an idea of a modern cowboy ‘hero’ who would start off as a criminal and slowly gain reputation over attempts of trying to do ‘good’ for the American society. Especially by ruining the lives of underworld criminals as an ‘anti-hero’ vigilante.
Cooper Black (the book) was initially entitled “The Post-American Cowboy”, but obviously no one would want to read the book like that!
So apparently, I came up with a catchy name, coincidentally also the name of a font, Cooper Black!
Over the years of 2017, 2018 and 2019 I wrote more shorter length stories and essays to hone up my skills. Thus, I decided to publish the raw manuscript of Cooper Black as a “classic edition” so that readers can compare my writing skills with the actual Cooper Black novel once it comes out (will be entitled ‘Cooper Black: The Hombre’).
Hence, I encourage you all to go ahead and laugh at my mistakes and at the childish – almost cartoonish – style of writing back in the days when I was still in eighth grade in school.
Enjoy. And feel free to adapt the characters you meet in this novel as your own. (I love seeing fanfiction!)
