In high school Hiroto and Satoru were complete opposites. Hiroto was always extraverted and full of energy, he was also quite popular. On the other hand, Satoru was a social outcast. Hardly anyone besides Hiroto spoke to him.
The two had been good friends since elementary school, even though they didn’t hang out too much outside of school, they still considered each other their best friend.
Since both of them had a great passion for music, they joined the light music club, which both of them greatly enjoyed.
When Hiroto wasn’t with Satoru he’d usually be going on outings with the girls from his class. Satoru on the other hand was a homebody and didn’t really like going out and mostly stayed home in order to practice his bass.
It was the end of the day, which Satoru was very grateful for. He was finally able to make his way to the light music club. That was his favorite part of the week.
Right as the last bell chimed, letting the students leave their classrooms, Satoru grabbed his bag and packed up his things then made his way to the club room.
When he opened the door, he was greeted by Hiroto stuffing his face with yakisoba bread. That was his favorite food and he always made sure to be at the school store early so that he could get his hands on it.
“You never change,” Satoru said with a sigh as he smiled at Hiroto.
Hiroto smiled back, “yup, you know me,” he said, his mouth still full of the yakisoba bread.
“You know that is one thing you could stop doing, it’s disgusting and you could choke,” Satoru said as he began to get his equipment set up.
Hiroto finally swallowed and just laughed it off, “eh, I’m fine. I don’t see the big deal.” Hiroto then went to sit down at the drum set, he grabbed the sticks and started to mess around with them.
Satoru got done setting up his bass so he did a few warmups.
“So, should we work more on that song we’ve been working on?” Satoru asked, looking over at Hiroto.
Hiroto nodded, “yeah, that works. I’ve actually had some ideas on what we should add to it.”
Satoru nodded then began playing what they had so far, Hiroto eventually joined in as well. Satoru had his notebook open so that he could write down the changes they made. He also had his phone out to record their progress.
In the end they lost track of time and had to be told to go some by one of the teachers.
“See you tomorrow, maybe we can finally finish this song then and get a demo tape made,” Hiroto said with a smile as he got on his bike.
Satoru nodded and smiled back at him, “yeah, that’s the goal. See you tomorrow.”
