A house was a small word to describe the palace in which one of the most powerful family in the country, the Saunders family, took residence. It was closer to a penthouse on top of one of the tallest buildings of the city of Vikstagrace. The city of Vikstagrace was situated in the south-norterne part of Canada, on the giant island that the Saint-laurent delta creates when he throws himself in the antlantic ocean. Being a trade-hub, the city saw a lot of activity all year round.
Looking all around, I took in the view of my old room. The room bathed in a soft early morning light that only the tallest buildings of the city could take advantage of. My soft bed layed in the corner of the rectangular room and clothes, clean and drity, littered the ground near my desk where my uniform layed perfectly folded ready for an otherday. The air was visiby dusty with particles drifting in the sun beam coming throught the wall of windows that gave a magnicicent view of the city bellow. Lost in my thoughts and my confusion, I barely heard the rapidly approaching footsteps of a girl I knew too well.
"Get up you lazy bum!" my sister shouted while bursting in my room. My sister, Cloe Saunders, always held an authoritarian facade to try and please our father, but when it melted later in my life after our father died, I discovered a nice and empathic person who, up until she died tragically, always made sure too help me through the rough time I was having after being booted out of the familly by father. As I watched her brown hair flow in the wind caused by the door, I couldn't help but have tears fill my eyes and think about how much I had missed her. Seeing my tear up she asked in the soft and concerned tone that I remembered her by, "Did you have a nightmare?"
"Yes, an awfull one." I answered while drying my eyes with my bare arm. Her brown eyes then took back their fake scowl, "Well now it's over, so get your butts downstairs or you'll be late for school!" She finished before leaving, the door wide open in her wake.
After having put on my uniform, I made my way down the corridor and the stairs that separated the main living area to join everybody that lived in the house. That moment I dreaded most. The house was inhabited by 10 people in all. My father and head of the Saunders corporation, Matthew Saunders. His wife, Mellina Saunders. My four brothers, Oliver, Nathan, Mitchell and Jason. my three sisters, Cloe, Loren and Adelle and finally me, Blake Saunders. I only discovered later in life why I was always the odd one out, the ugly duck, the black sheep. I wasn't their son, or at least I wasn't my mothers son. I was the product of an adultere thst my father had with another women and when she died I moved here and was taken in by them but if I had known all that would happen I would have left this house befor they kicked me out.
"Well would you look at that." my father said, watching me come down the stairs with its peircing and jugemental blue-grey eyes.
"Look who decided to wake up at a resonable hour and not be late." his wife added with an amused grin plastered on her face.
"Hello Father, Hello Mother." I said as respectfully as I could. "Such rudeness." the women added, looking down on me as she did. "You bow nineties degrees when saluting your elders, like your brothers do!" As if on cue, the oldest of my brothers who still resided in the house appeared and bowed to the both of them. "Look at this!" the despicable women exclamed. "Thats how you do it." my brother looking at me now face to face grined and saluted me before running of to who knows where.
After having listned to my 'mother' bable about her perfect sons and daughters while I ate, I finally left the house, taking the giant elevetor with my siblings and a short car ride I was finally out of the hell hole that I called my familly.
After hearing my pretend mother rant about the perfections that are her sons
