There’s an affectionate phrase that goes something to the tune of, “You can’t fly without supply”, and as much as one can argue, it’s effectively true. Parts and resources are key to keeping aircraft healthy and flying smoothly, however there are more occasions than we’d like to acknowledge where the supply system can’t keep up with our operational demand. Required parts show up much later than they say they would, be delivered to the wrong destination, not have enough of the requested parts, or even worse BE THE WRONG PARTS. It is its own form of comedy sitting and waiting for parts and resources to show up to meet demands only to have to “make do” and then the wrong or inaccurate parts arrive.
From the creators of the Cancelled for Maintenance Podcast comes a series where we take a comedic, behind-the-scenes look into the gritty, non-glamorous life of aircraft maintenance.
Aircraft maintenance is an extremely rewarding, but very taxing profession. It takes a very driven person to take up this career and excel in it. It has its very low points but has its very high ones as well. Follow along with our three main mechanics and their friends as they deal with the highs and lows to keep planes flying.
