Their vehicle landed in the parking slots in front of the wharf, which resembles a wide balcony with beautifully carved railings, on the three floors before the top floor of this skyscraper. Their vehicle then connected to the wharf that led into the building. They got out of the vehicle while looking at the city around them and the distant view below with expressions of amazement. Arlen looked around curiously.
“This city is magnificent.”
Nolan smiled.
“Let me take you all inside.”
They walked together across this wharf, toward the skyscraper’s entrance, a row of automatic glass sliding double doors. They walked past the rows of long chairs, beautifully carved plant beds that decorated many parts of the wharf, and a beautifully carved circular fountain in the center while looked around them curiously. They then walked into this skyscraper.
After passing through the entrance, they arrived at the guest hall with a two-story high ceiling and an open hallway on the second floor, located on the right, left, and at the end of the hall, and several elevators to the right and left of the entrances.
The guest hall’s open hallway had rows of columns, sturdy glass railings with metal frames, and handrails made of glossy carved wood. There were several long sofas in several corners of the guest hall, wall lamps, and ceiling lights. At the far end was an entrance to a wide corridor with an open hallway above it and staircases leading to the upper floors with the same design of railings as those in the open hallway, located to the right and left corridor entrance. Glossy ceramics with beautiful patterns decorated the walls, and a large chandelier adorned the center of the ceiling, decorated with lights and niche lights. Nolan and the others walked through the guest hall as they talked to each other.
“We’ll have an additional meeting in the room I have prepared. But if you guys are tired, you can spend the night here and continue our business tomorrow.”
Arlen smiled broadly.
“Let’s continue now; I’m still curious and impatient to know what’s next.”
Rothur, Grimor, and the cloaked man agreed and appeared curious.
They walked into a wide corridor at the end of the guest hall with a beautifully carved ceiling. The floor above this corridor was a wide passage leading to an open hallway above the entrance to this corridor. They continued walking past the rows of carved, glossy, tall wooden double doors to their right and left and arrived at a row of elevators at the end of the corridor, with the entrances to the other corridors to their right and left. They walked to one of the elevators and entered it.
Inside the elevator was quite spacious. What caught their attention the most was the translucent glass wall of sturdy metal-framed window panes at the back of the elevator, which showed a beautiful night view of Ark-001 city. Rothur walked closer to the glass wall and looked at the scene before him in amazement.
“So amazing, is there a day view in this city?”
Nolan walked closer to the glass wall.
“Of course, the city’s ceiling has lights that resemble an artificial sun. I also planned to bring an artificial sky into this battlecarrier starship.”
Rothur nodded. The others were amazed to hear Nolan’s plan.
Nolan pressed a button on the elevator control panel beside the elevator door. The elevator door closed and started moving up. They waited while enjoying the beautiful view of Ark city. After a while, the elevator stopped, and its door opened. They arrived at a hallway with a carpeted floor that connected the room entrance doors. They walked down a hallway that led to the left. They walked down another corridor with a row of doors to their right and a row of sturdy metal-framed window panes to their left.
Shortly after, they arrived at the tall wooden double doors at the end of the corridor. Nolan opened the door and walked inside, followed by the others. Behind the door was a spacious common room with a two-story high ceiling, groups of sofas, a bar counter, a TV, a kitchen bar, a row of bookshelves with a single sofa and a floor lamp nearby, with several furniture that resembled a table for playing poker, and other tables resembled pool table, darts, etc. Open hallway in the row of window panes with sturdy metal frames on the second floor and a spacious balcony outside the row of high wooden framed glass double doors on the first floor of this room. The male bartender was already here, ready to serve them. Nolan turned to the others curiously.
“I don’t think we need to be too formal?”
Grimor smiled.
“Of course, we’ll happily talk with you casually.”
Some time later, they continued their activity in separate sections of this room: Rothur sat at the bar counter, Grimor sat on the single couch by the fireplace, the cloaked man and Arlen by the balcony, and Nolan stood by one of the double doors leading to the balcony. Each of them brought their drinks made by the bartender. Nolan took his touchscreen cell phone from inside the pocket behind his overcoat and called one of his crews.
"Bring the statement letter."
The male crew's voice on Nolan's cell phone replied in a respectful tone.
"Of course, sir."
They ended the call. Nolan continued talking with the others while drinking.
Shortly after, a humanoid race male with maroon skin, black hair, and three horns on his head that lined up on top of his head, from the front to the back of the head. He walked to Nolan while carrying a long, metal, cylindrical container with a lid that could be opened.
"This is what you asked for, captain."
He handed the cylindrical container to Nolan, who then accepted it. The male humanoid excused himself and left the room. The others' attention was drawn to Nolan.
Nolan opened this cylindrical container, which contained a roll of white paper. Nolan unrolled the scroll on the wide circular table in this room.
“There’s something I want to show you all about.”
The others’ expressions turned curious. They walked closer to the round table and read the white paper with black writing on it:
“April 20, 20xx.
A new alliance had been created. As the first member and founder, we’ll write this letter as proof of its establishment.”
Nolan smiled.
“We’ll sign this letter as founders and members of our alliance.”
Arlen crossed his arms and propped his chin with his right hand as he thought.
“I don’t really understand, but that might be a good idea.”
The others also agreed on this point. Nolan smiled.
“Good, but first, we must name our alliance first.”
They all were thoughtful momentarily. Rothur appeared to realize something.
“I don’t mind if the name of this alliance is Lantern.”
Nolan appeared doubtful.
“Sorry, but I don’t agree. We have agreed that we’ll not use the name of our group as a marker for us to still can separate our respective businesses beyond the common interests of this alliance and to make it easier for other parties to join and adapt.”
The cloaked man nodded.
“Alright, has anyone thought of what name would be suitable for our alliance?”
The others fell silent in thought. Arlen appeared to realize something.
“What if the conqueror? Because we might conquer something?”
Rothur looked at Arlen with a deadpan expression.
“That name is very much to the point, too brutal.”
Arlen akimbo as he smiled broadly. The cloaked man appeared to realize something.
“How about The Journey? Because we are going on a journey to the Starless Region.”
The others appeared to disagree. Grimor’s expression turned somewhat astonished.
“Of course, but our goal isn’t just to go to the Starless Region or go on another journey. That name is too specific for one purpose.”
The cloaked man appeared to notice that as well.
“That’s right, let’s think of another name.”
Nolan appeared to realize something.
“What if S.E.A.?”
The others' attention was drawn to Nolan. Arlen appeared confused.
“S.E.A.? you means the sea like on earth?”
Nolan smiled.
“S.E.A. stands for “Space Established Alliance” because we built it in outer space, not a territory on any planet. This is also to show if any party with the same opinion as the goals of this alliance can join, not be bound by any special provisions outside of that.”
The others were surprised. Nolan’s expression turned curious.
“I’m sorry if my opinion is closely related to my experience forming a city running outside the planet.”
The others smiled and nodded. Arlen smiled broadly.
“Good name, I approve.”
Grimor’s expression turned curious.
“I liked the origins of the name, Nolan. So, I agreed.”
The cloaked man nodded.
“I agree with something new like that, Nolan.”
Rothur nodded.
“That name isn’t too brutal, so I agree.”
Nolan smiled.
“Thank you everyone, then we have agreed.”
Nolan edited the writing on this paper using an ink pen and an ink eraser.
“April 20, 20xx.
A new alliance has been created; as the first member and founder, we will make this letter a written proof of the Space Established Alliance’s founding.”
