When darkness once again engulfed this world, all but one subordinate followed the Idol of Darkness. With a downcast gaze, Xaela gripped the necklace in her hand. Once again, she was all on her own... No, she was less than alone. She was outnumbered. What hope was there, four against one?
"There is a way you can become stronger. Stronger than any other god." Helena wore a fierce expression, meeting her sister's gaze. If Xaela could harvest the power of the five undying gods, even the New Order would be no match for her.
Their have long-since left this world. They remain bound to this realm through crystal-like artifacts, hidden in forgotten temples. The Heart of Loyalty already lay embedded into Xaela's necklace, along with all hope for their world.
"Take me with you."
Xaela turned towards expelled general Marlais, a boy she had been quite close with. He hadn't been seen since his departure...
"I... I did something terrible. Something I really regret. If I'm the reason Sacha is in so much pain, then I should be the one to save her.
Taking Marlais and Helena in each of her hands, the trio searched to the ends of the earth. A scorching desert, a volcanic wasteland, and a mountain that grazed the clouds... They would return hope by any means necessary. Their heroic efforts were broadcasted through an anonymous author, the will of all the world behind them.
Finally, they returned to the city from whence they started. They would free Sacha from her suffering and become the light... Such is the natural course of events. But I will not let this cycle repeat once more.
The world was created by a being known as ZERO. Her body fragmented into five sisters, and her soul was embedded in the hearts of all people. If all the world had a single mission, it would be possible to reconstruct that power.
Xaela was created using my own soul. She would serve as my mortal catalyst and assemble the fragments for me. In order to motivate her, we made and stole away a precious sister, sealed away her power, and turned her own comrades against her. Indeed, it was all planned right from the start.
"You bastard!" The most consistent thorn in my side was my own sister Charon, goddess of flame and compassion. "You're just using them!"
"Naturally. I will do anything for our mission."
"I won't let you get away with this!" She swung at me, burning self-righteous rage. With her sloppy, unrefined movements, she could never land a blow.
I struck her weapon from her hand and knocked her over with ease. Crushing her under my foot, the tip of my blade pressed against her throat.
"Always trying to interfere. But surely you must understand by now... Your life rests in the mercy of the strong. Until the throne of heaven is rendered to ashes, the world will know no peace."
She gasped for breath as I released her, knowing what I said to be true. But not long after she'd left, I whispered to the figure hidden behind the door.
"Deal with her before her heart wavers again. I won't let her ruin my plans."
