Professor Moff was dead.
That was a rather shocking and jarring development, as he was Ace of Alerion’s only remaining father-like figure. In fact, Ace had just concluded the second-most-impactful 24 hours of his life.
The first were the 24 hours following the death of his actual father. This only won first-place as it was the same 24 hours in which Ace lost his mother and also went blind. But he played no involvement in any of those three incidents, which made it particularly shocking and jarring for Ace to acknowledge that he had, in fact, played direct involvement in the death of Sithius Moff.
24 hours ago, he had no idea or even remote suspicion that he would play direct involvement. 24 hours later, at the current moment, he still had no idea why he had played direct involvement. In the next 24 hours, that would not change.
