Hours passed.
Alex was afraid of encountering Vehemor again. The thought of his emerald scales and deep red eyes chilled him to his core. Dusk had begun to set upon the city, filling the sky with a dark purple hue. Certain of the fact they would not encounter Vehemor, Alex prodded Ryan, who startled awake.
“Are you ready to head out?”
Alex asked,
Ryan spoke, grogginess oozing from each word,
“I guess.”
Ryan stood up brushing off the dust from his pants. Alex nodded to him as he approached the exit to the tram station. Ryan followed close behind, and the pair exited the building. As the tips of their toes touched the ground outside the familiar sound echoed.
*DING*

Alex’s face contorted into a scowl, it was only the second [Main Quest] but it had been during this quest that he met his end. In sixteen days, he would enter into a war against a tamer. Ryan looked at Alex, causing him to stand up straighter like a soldier at attention. The scowl drained from his face, determination trading places with it. He would not die this time, and he was going to make certain of it.
Alex spoke, settling his gaze upon Ryan.
“We have to move carefully, if we’re caught by a horde of beasts, we’ll die.”
Ryan nodded while responding.
“I’m aware, it’d probably be best for us to weave around buildings.”
Alex nodded, and the two took off towards a large tower. The streets were silent, empty and hollow. Fear weighed down each step they took. They hid under overhangs and in store fronts. Slowly and painstakingly they entered the tower. It was dark, though he could not see it he could hear the sound of glass cracking underneath his feet. He glanced at the ceiling and could barely make out the shape of a shattered fluorescent light. He swallowed hard, another wave of fear stalled his steps. Ryan stopped to look at Alex, his eyes with solid determination to keep moving forward. The silent gap between their steps was filled with a large CRACK. The two froze, petrified. Alex glanced back towards the door, and saw a large quadruped shadow dash past. The ceiling in front of the door came crashing down. No way out, utterly and completely trapped. Instinctively Alex’s hand slid to the dagger on his hip, ready to strike at anything that came towards him. A minute passed, that minute turned into two, two changed to four, and yet nothing came.
Ryan finally broke the silence.
“Let’s move on and see if we can find another exit.”
Alex nodded.
Navigating in the dark was difficult, but as time passed by it became easier as their eyes adjusted. They searched the first floor for hours but any and all exits were blocked. They found a staircase and proceeded to the next floor the second floor was almost identical, other than the gaping holes in the interior walls. They spent an hour or so searching the second floor but once again, found no exit. The third and forth floor were the same as the second floor, the fifth floor however held a bit more. The fifth floor was a completely open room, all of the interior walls had been collapsed. Alex thought to himself, if this was a dungeon they just entered the boss room. He thought back to the giant quadraped shadow on the first floor, and it dawned on him that this was the top floor of the tower. One thought flashed across his mind, the dark enclosed space, the quadraped shadow, he sputter out the words he was thinking.
“We’ve entered a wolves den”
Ryan glanced at Alex, as the ground beneath them shook. Alex had flash backs to when he first encountered Vehmor, the ground shook then came a horrible screech. A deafening howl echoed through the building, and no more than thirty feet away from them the ground began to crack and crumble.
(Attention)
A world of souls is staring at you
He heard the sound of a notification popping up. He was stunned, the souls in his last life waited until the selection of the {Base Master} to start sending messages. More over he was curious of how many souls had to be watching him to be considered a world, and to that end which ones were watching him. His confidence grew after all he had nothing to lose, and with all those souls watching him, he couldn’t let them see his weakness.

A crowd of souls are watching expectantly
(Attention)
A few are wishing for your demise
Two new notifications, with conflicting messages Alex had a thought.
‘If they are this divide perhaps I can get away with something’
Alex called out to the air.
“To those of you staring at me I have a bet for you”
(Attention)
A world of souls is listening expectantly
Alex grinned and continued.
“Since you are all divided on wanting me to live or die, how about we make a bet if I live I get one random ability from one of the losers, and if I die my soul will be yours to do with as you wish”
For souls, their power is based on faith and stories from the world. But that can only give them so much power, by claiming the soul of a player, or what they call a “true soul” they could boost their power. When people die most true souls are sent to a void like afterlife, but for those who are being support by a soul they are consumed by it after death. From this they gain the stats of the true soul as well as any abilities or skills the player had for those who only gained skills and abilities from their soul, it made the second clause useless. But if a soul were to consume the soul of anothers player they would gain those abilities.
(Attention)
Those who expect you to live wish for more compensation
Alex spoke.
“You all can get fifty percent of however much is bet”
(Attention)
Someone wants eighty percent
Alex continued to negotiate for a few moments before finally agreeing on a seventy-five twenty-five split.

The ground exploded as a large black wolf lept through it. Alex’s legs became stiff as stone, and his arms hung loosely by his sides. Above the wolf it’s title (Assimar Lvl 4), terror flashed across Alex’s mind.Alex drew his dagger, and pointed it towards the wolf.
Hey everyone, we’re currently working on getting back into an upload pattern. But with the start of school and a few other schedule issues. We struggled to write the chapters, it may take a bit for us to upload regularly again but bear with us until then. We do really hope you all enjoyed this, because it was a lot of fun to write.
