While Lucas saw this as the end of their story, for him and Emilia, it’s actually the beginning. 

The trials and tribulations Lucas will face over the next decade are like nothing he ever imagined. He’ll endure pain worse than the loss of his parents, which will only compound and affirm the false belief that he’s unworthy of love and happiness. 

It’s that pain that will fuel the resilience he’ll need to survive. In the end, it’s what will transform him into a man worthy of fighting for the life and love he never believed he deserved.
