"Lizzie! What took you so long?" my makeup artist, Nicky asked me, her British accent shining through her words. "Did it have something to do with your secret admirer?" she asked, winking. I groaned. Maddy really did tell everyone. "There is no secret admirer, Nicky. Someone just left flowers in my living room. I'm sure there's a logical explanation." I said, shaking my head. "Aw, phooey. It really is time for you to have some love in your life." she said, opening her huge makeup bag and pointing to a seat. "Hop into the seat, it's time for the makeover!!" she said, more excited than usual. I obeyed and hopped into the seat where she pointed. 30 minutes later, the transformation from Lizzie to Amanda was complete. Minus hair and costume. I grinned, and Nicky left the room to grab her hair styling bag. A few minutes later she came back, hairbrush in hand, and 10 minutes later I had a very cute braided bun. I thanked her, and she left the room to do makeup and hair for other actors. I changed into my costume and shoes and left my room, phone in hand. You see, yesterday after Maddy and I and all of our cast friends finished getting into costumes, we did a livestream on social media, and we decided to make it a tradition. Today we were going to be dancing to a Taylor Swift song and livestreaming it on YouTube and other social media platforms. The song for today was Love Story, a song everyone was sure to know. After the livestream, it was time to practice. By the time everyone was ready it was 4:00. A little more than 3 hours until go time. The theater opened in 2 hours, and we didn't have enough time to practice everything. We went through the toughest scenes and then we had to wait backstage until 7:15, when we took our places on the stage. I could hear the theater filling up, the chatter was really loud. I took a few deep breaths and did vocal warm ups with Maddy. Then it was go time. The lights dimmed and we took our places. The curtain opened and the show started. By intermission, I was so full of energy that I couldn't stop smiling. That's how acting makes me feel.
