The Lost Forest

Chapter Five part four

Chapter Five part four

Oct 01, 2023

“My name is Naaririel.” He whispered, holding Elyn tightly as if he were afraid that she would disappear if he didn’t.

Elyn stood frozen, not knowing what to do. Should she hug him back? That's what friends do in these situations, right? How long has Elyn wondered? How long has it been since she felt any form of contact? To her own surprise, the guardian began to cry as she awkwardly wrapped her arms around Naaririel.

“Is Lillian okay?” Elyn asked as the two began to walk away from each other. Naaririel nodded before taking Elyn’s right hand.

"It is easy to get lost between the realms.” Naaririel began as he drew a strange symbol on top of it. "In case we separate, I’ll be able to find you.”

Elyn studied the symbol for a good moment; she wanted to know how exactly the symbol worked and how the portals worked.

"Do not fret, my dear; I shall teach you all I know.” Naaririel grinned as he walked towards the portal entrance, gesturing for Elyn to follow.

“H-h-how ?” She wondered in amazement and curiosity. How many roads were there—hundreds, thousands, perhaps even more?

“There are nine main realms; each realm holds a universe; each contains various planets, moons, and stars.” Naaririel explains as the two walk down a road.

“Each one of these roads is connected to a different location in Adamas and beyond that.” He continued.

“Including Mica.” Elyn finished

“Yes.” Naaririel answered, stopping at an entrance.

"My dear Elly, welcome to the..." Naaririel began

The first thing that Elyn noticed was the smell; it was as if it were the most repulsive scent she had witnessed. The second were the hundreds of dead bodies scattered throughout the city, and the third were the blue orbs that levitated above them.

“Get back inside the realms. I'm going to set a barrier," Naaririel said as he wrote more strange symbols.

Elyn slowly began to walk backwards towards the entrance. It seemed as if she wasn’t moving at all. Step by step, until finally she was back in the realms.

"Farewell, Mica.” He said he was walking to the entrance.
