There was a God of Creation.
A being who lived in an empty space, where there was nothing but an infinite white. At that time there was no concept of time, because there was only the one who lived there. But if a term had to be used to measure how long he was enclosed, the correct word would be eons.
Likewise, he did not see himself as a god. His appearance was that of a sphere with several rings around it which kept spinning. These rings carried other spheres, and often new ones appeared; billions of them accumulated.
It would be impossible to try to describe how immense this being was, because there was nothing comparable to its size.
There was nothing.
Until, at a certain moment, his consciousness presented him with something new; a need, a desire. It longed for its own disappearance.
This being began to slowly unravel. It let go of the spheres that were born from its body.
As it separated, the spheres took on colors. Each one harbored enormous amounts of energy that began to spread through that infinite white.
That day, Time was born.
Each burst of the spheres brought the being closer to its demise, but its essence would live on.
Within each sphere was what we call a universe, and within each universe were galaxies, worlds, stars... Life.
Throughout the eons, this being continued to work on unraveling.
But from its remains were born entities, which would gain consciousness of their own based on an aspect of what the so-called God of Creation thought.
Thus, some of those entities took over those universes, those worlds, following their own desire.
When the first forms of earthly lives emerged, they caught the attention of these entities; because those mortal beings, whose life span would be equivalent to a blink of an eye for the entities, could experience and live events that beings who are seen as gods never could.
What would it feel like to be vulnerable and insignificant? was the question posed by one.
And so, some entities decided to create life, others to administer those that arose naturally.
The same thing happened with the planet whose dominant species called Earth.
Those who participated in the creation, and guided it, intervened several times in history to teach; acquiring various forms that could be familiar to humans, who seemed to be the species with the greatest projection.
But, just as there were those who wished to offer them wisdom, there were those who needed to offer them fear.
The entities born of the destructive thinking of the God of Creation had their own vision.
In the end, some were recognized as gods and others as demons.
Some brought abundance and others corruption, each with their own vision of how they should develop the species. So much discord led to an agreement, an experiment:
They would stop intervening in the human world, and allow free will to guide them to see where they would end up.
If they had decided to argue until only one of them was right, by then, the whole species would be extinct.

There was a time when people could exercise a power they called "magic". Something that connected them intimately to the entities that gave them life, yet they could only mimic an aspect so small that it was practically insignificant.
But eventually, that connection was lost and with it the magic died. All record that remained of it, and of each creature, became so-called fantasy tales.
People put their trust in machines. They became more and more separated from those who gave them life.
For them, those gods were dead. With each discovery, they distanced themselves.
The magical beasts and other races that maintained their bond decided to isolate themselves in their own dimensions where the human hand would not reach.
Millennia later, no trace of humanity remained and that planet was dying. There was no trace left of what was once magic. It was a dead land.
At times, humans brought about their own destruction.
What finally doomed them was that a group of these gods decided that life on that planet was unimportant, and that it was better to study other worlds. Thus, they decided to exterminate them by means of catastrophes.
Another group met, moments before this planet was devoured by its sun, in an infinite white space like the one inhabited by the God of Creation.
One entity, the most intimate with mankind, had the appearance of these; but his whole body was golden and glowing, no feature could be distinguished. Within that golden light there seemed to be thousands of stars.
This one, who could be called Human God called out to his comrades.
On his left side, a spiral-shaped mist with multiple glowing spheres inside; like a galaxy.
To the right, something like a neon-colored cloud that seemed to have hundreds of planets inside it.
They held a conversation. To anyone but their own, their language would be unintelligible, but if such a dialogue could be translated into human language, it would go like this:
"Can't we reverse it?" suggested the Human God. "And give them another chance".
The left-hand spiral, who might be called God of Time, would reply.
"We made a pact: not to intervene. Why make them resurface?"
The last one, cloud-like, who could be called God of Life and Death.
"I granted your request to preserve a record of every living thing. Within me, they still live in what they call heaven or hell".
The Human God was not cornered by the arguments of his fellow man.
"Right, but that pact was broken when the others decided that Earth was not worth the trouble".
"You're right" replied the God of Time. "But it was the majority vote. What do you propose?"
After a moment of silence, which might as well have been centuries for humans, the Human God finally answered.
"I will join my life to the life of this planet. No, rather, to this solar system. Please, lend me your strength".
"All right".
No one doubted that. For them, who had no attachment to life, if one suddenly decided to disappear it would not affect them at all.
"God of Time and God of Life and Death, I will need both of you".
"I will give you a part of me. I keep all the information of every era lived in humanity. The medieval era was my favorite".
"I liked the dinosaurs era" said the God of Life and Death.
"I will bring both back. I am very grateful to you".
"One question, before you go". Said the God of Time. "How important are humans to you? This is not the only place they inhabit".
"Not only humans. All life forms. I love every living thing. Even if there are other places, these are the ones I watched grow up. I saw them make mistakes and learn. Therefore, I must do so".
So, the one they called "Human God" died.
"Hum. Looks like he made it". Commented the God of Time. "That was very human of him. I can't understand it, but I'll keep an eye on this new world".
"What do you see in the future of this land?"
"Oh. It seems we made a mistake. The new humans, no, rather, the new life forms will have a much worse fate".
"Oh. That's unfortunate".
"We'll have to do our comrade a favor. Please give me your strength. We will interfere for some time".
"Now it is you who speaks as a human".
The Weather God simply ignored his comment.
"Our base will be what they called magic".
