A man named Felix lay on the riverbank, breathing heavily. He gazed at the sun, which had already risen above the treetops. Resting on his bared chest was a little child.
"Ha-ha..." he tenderly warmed the small child. "I don't even know, maybe my father was mistaken when he called me 'happy' and 'prosperous'."
He looked at the trembling body of the child. It was massive, but Felix couldn't see a single hair on its head. He shook his head and said, "Well, it seems both of us ended up here, two abandoned souls. Would you like to come with me?" He looked at the shivering, cold boy and continued, "The one I'm talking to still doesn't understand me."
Felix began to rise, holding the boy tightly, but suddenly, the boy struck him under the chin. The man gazed thoughtfully at the boy and said, "You shall be Bernard, strong as a bear..." As he disappeared into the depths of the forest, he scratched his head and added, "Maybe that's what my father gave me as a name..."
