"I dreamt of you last night again..." She said, warmed by the embrace of her loved one, sitting on his lap as he was sitting on the floor.
"Was I still a painter?" He asked, wondering if at least in dreams he'd be more successful. His dirty clothes were tainted with all sorts of paint colors. His skin was randomly dotted as well, with drops of tint everywhere, from head to toes.
"Yes you were..." She responded. The silence invaded their empty room, lightened only by the beautiful glow of the moon through the window of their house.
"I'll make a million dollars someday, you know?" He finally broke the silence with such a bold but firm sentence.
"Honey..." She said, worried about him just like always. The expression on his face might've been only decided and focused, but she knew that her lover was always trying too hard.
"Because nobody is going to steal you from me..." He concluded.
After a few minutes of more silence, the night was at its peak. The crickets and the owls were the main soundtrack, as the soft cold breeze was piercing through the little breach of the window.
"Have you noticed that sometimes the moon looks brighter than the sun?" He asked his eternal love.
"I actually have..." She replied, always understanding the visions of her soulmate.
"I'm pretty sure it's because it reflects on your beauty."
"That's so cheesy, baby..." Even though it was kind of cute, she knew that was just too cliché and very lame.
"I mean it... Some people say that the moon was once ugly. Maybe it still is, but we think differently because we see its true reflection on Earth. The moon is perfect because all I see on it is you..." He never failed on saying the right things to his loved one. He may have been screwed up by life when it comes to money or intelligence, but he never missed the opportunity to please and take care of his lover.
"I love you so much..." She simply said.
"I love you too." He simply answered.
"Is the one thing you want the most in the world still the same?" She asked, already knowing the answer, but still wanted to hear it from her lover's mouth.
"Yes. Give me your heart and your hand and we can run..." He said. She smiled. They held each other's hand tight. He breathed deeply in worrying, but she started dreaming once again.
