"So, Ed... small world."
Taking a sip of my coffee kindly made for me by Adam, I’m glad to see a familiar face.
The large frame of my acquaintance I haven't seen in almost a year. His build being a fair bit stocker than Adam’s, with a booming voice.
Judging from what he’s said, I suppose it makes sense when he worked with us he used a different surname name.
“Gonna take some getting used to what you just told me though!”
Ed gave me the rundown of what has happened since I got here. In doing so he revealed he’s actually a Cyborg made by Isamu Yakage. I honestly could not tell, in all the time I've known him. He takes out his contact lenses, showing the stark difference between the eyes I’m used to seeing, and the eyes I can now see. Sharp lines protrude from the pupils, with a line almost like a step which then continues towards the edges in each cardinal direction. The pupils enlarge slightly as he smiles at me.
"Haha, sorry! Yeah. It’d be kind of hard to explain to people I'm a Cyborg. Hope it's not a problem."
"I bet. That's cool though. Good contacts by the way. I couldn’t tell.”
This also explains a lot. Ed has always been way more durable than most people I know.
"I suppose that’s also why you used the surname “Carsons” at the PHE then, Ed.”
Ed shrugs and gives me a smile.
“Yeah, sorry about that. It would have just caused a lot of problems.”
That’s an understatement. A creation of Isamu Yakage just casually working for the police? There would be a lot of questions. He’s the President of Yakage Industries, one of the largest companies in the world.
I suppose that’s why as far as I know he and his family have always been pretty private.
It’s said he’s a real life technological prodigy. And considering I couldn't tell Ed was a Cyborg...
“Understandable. Isamu is… pretty famous.”
