I stop typing for a moment and reach for my cup of coffee, and pull it to my mouth, until I realize it’s empty.

"Ah. Now's a good break point anyway." 

Standing up, I pick up my cup, and walk into the kitchen. 

Placing the mug down, I place a  coffee pod into the machine and turn it on. Leaning on the kitchen counter, I look to the ceiling and close my eyes, standing in silence. The hum of the coffee machine and the fan of my laptop, my only companions for a time.

The coffee machine finishes, so I open  my eyes and step towards the machine. As I do, my tablet that was previously on standby, blares an alarm.

I know what this means. It’s a special alarm, designed and programmed by myself. I run back into the living room, and use my fingerprint to unlock the tablet. The screen displayed surprises me.

"Now who in the hell is accessing the twins’ files?"  At this, I place my thumb onto a corner of the screen and close my eyes, activating my ability. The tablet then shows a video feed of two men.

"Isamu… Yakage? Well, this is... interesting." I say this while looking at the file title displayed on my laptop.

"Now then, what are you doing, Mister Yakage? Why would you be accessing the Fosters classified files?" 

I turn the volume up on the tablet and listen in for a minute.

"Isabelles there? The hell is happening?" 

I point to my phone and as I do it turns on. 

"I'd best text Sara. Hopefully she actually checks it..." 

Remotely, using my ability, I send a text. It reads:

<It seems Isamu Yakage is accessing yours and Isabelle's files. What's more, Isabelle is with Isamu Yakage right now. It doesn't look malicious but it looks like something happened. She's being taken care of. I'll keep an eye on what's happening here and keep you posted.>

"There. Now let's see if I can find Isabelle." 

I move and sit back on my computer chair. Setting the tablet next to the Laptop, I point at it and the screen changes to video feeds on the Yakage Compound. I click on the infirmary feed. Isabelle looks to be fine.

I sigh in relief, and see Isamu Yakage and another person talking. I click onto the feed and listen in. 

What I can gather is she wasn’t herself and attacked them. It would seem… she was drugged and controlled. A tinge of anger wells within me, but I put it aside for now. I need to let Sara know and stay calm.

I point again to my phone and relay this to Sara. After a few seconds, my phone vibrates. A text pops up. It reads. 

<Are you sure she's alright?>

I send a reply.

<Yes, I'm watching the feed now. It seems Isabelle really was controlled by something and made to attack them. Turn your laptop on and I'll send you the feed.>

Moments later, my phone vibrates again. Without checking its contents, knowing what the answer is, I close my eyes and with my Ability, send the feed to Sara so that she can view it herself in real time, and start a video call.

"You there?" I inquire.

"...Yeah. No video on my end though." 

“...I understand.” I clench the edge of the table tightly, but stop before I cause any damage to it.

"She's not even been gone long. She went out this morning to take care of some errands then was going to go shopping on the way back. So this had to have happened shortly after she left the apartment. I wasn’t expecting to see her back at least for a few more hours."

"Really? Shit. Oh." 

I notice Isabelle waking up. 

"I'll turn the feed volume up."

"Thanks."

Isabelle starts waking up and ascertaining the situation. A man walks in and after… a slight mixup, explains the situation to her.

"Yeah, it seems like this is true. And I guess that explains why her phone is off. Probably got fried."

"I can confirm that. It's dead. Guessing you'll wait till she gets a hold of a phone?"

"Going to have to, or else I'll have to explain how I know what's happening. I imagine this won't look great for you if Suzanna gets wind of this... This is pretty damn illegal. You of all people should know that…”

"Uh, yeah... well."

"Heh. It's alright. I’m not a cop anymore, remember? Speaking of, you can cut the feed. Do so on your end also."

"...Are you sure?"

"...Yeah, I trust Isabelle's judgement. I'll just wait to be uh, normally informed."

"Okay... As long as you're sure." 

I click my fingers and the feeds on both ends are cut. 

"Uh.. sorry I disturbed you."

"It's… it's okay. This was important. Sorry I've not been very... talkative."

I clench my fist tightly and struggle to reply. "It's understandable. I'll... leave you alone. Sorry again."

"Thanks Harmony, really. You're a good friend."

I grit my teeth and reply, "No worries." The call ends. I raise my hand into the air, and tremble. Pausing, I slowly bring my hand down and put my hand over my face. 

"I need to do more. I have to." 

Sparks gather around my left hand, my lightning element energy flowing through it. Clenching my fist, it dissipates.
