Months passed by Reena planned her escape with Noy and Khanna, luckily for her there were more and more ship sailing to Gour, so their exchanges were quicker than usual. The only thing they didn’t calculate with was Loch and his informants.
Loch, called for an impromptu council meeting, it was held with a group of his close advisers so they can discuss the situation of Reena treacherous escape. The other thing to discuss was the midwife finding out she was pregnant with twins… or for them two gifted children. The meeting was held in the largest conference hall, with a large table in the centre surrounded by chairs.
“Thank you for attending this meeting, we have important matters to discuss, especially the latest findings of the Queen’s pregnancy. Mr and Mrs Sami the royal physicians will proceed and make their official statement in front of the council.” The midwife stood up while Mr Sami remained seated, she cleared her throat and took a deep breath before she started speaking. She was an old and experienced woman. There was no doubt that she was the most credible midwife next to the most talented doctor on the continent, they were also professors at the Eugolian university of physicians to pass down their knowledge for the future generation of doctors. All of these were ordered by the the Royal family as a show of appreciation for their long service. This was a revolutionary step, to produce more and more educated doctors.
“To all members of the council” she started with a shaky voice, “We hereby announce, with great joy and excitement, the findings. After careful examination, it has been determined that Her Majesty, the Queen, is indeed carrying twins. This news fills our hearts with immense happiness, as it signifies a gift of double blessings bestowed upon our kingdom.” The midwife, skilled in her craft, has meticulously observed the physical signs and symptoms displayed by the Queen. Her extensive experience and expertise leave no doubt regarding her findings. The kingdom shall now eagerly await the arrival of the two royal heirs, destined to shape the future of our great land.
Given the unique circumstances surrounding the birth of twins, it is of utmost importance to ensure the safety and protection of the Queen and her unborn children. Given the circumstances of the Queen’s state of anxiety and confirmed planning of a possible escape we advise, the following precautions and measures should be implemented without delay.
The security measures around the palace and the Queen's chambers should be significantly reinforced. Additional guards will be stationed, and access will be strictly limited to approved personnel. The news of the Queen's twin pregnancy shall be kept strictly confidential to safeguard the well-being of both mother and children. The public will be informed only after the birth has taken place. The Queen will receive enhanced medical care, with regular check-ups and close monitoring by myself and my Husband Mr.Sani. In the event of our passing our children current residents of the University will take our place. We ask His Majesty to grant us permission for us to bring them here so in the unfortunate event of us passing they can take our place without anything being amiss twin pregnancies have a higher mortality rate if the mother to be is malnourished which our Queen is. Special care will be given by us to ensure the safety and wellbeing of both the Queen and the unborn children.
Let it be known that protecting the Queen and her precious children is the highest priority for us and of course the Kingdom. We shall spare no effort in ensuring their safety and well-being. May this double blessing bring prosperity and happiness to our land for generations to come.
Long live our King, Queen and the Kingdom!” She then promptly sat back to her seat and held her husband’s hand, this is the first time a woman had stood up and spoke before the council. Some council members were shocked, but the younger ones didn’t bet an eye.
The council members included educators, researchers and experts in the Iridium history. The King’s face showed no emotions, as if he didn’t even want to discuss the matters, but he couldn’t get out of it. “Thank you for the information, Mrs Sani, I see that both of you are extremely tired, you may leave the meeting and make sure you’re well rested for the next examination. The pair stood up and bowed to everyone in the room and slowly left the hall. The King followed them with his eyes and the moment the door shut behind them he turned his gaze towards the remaining men.
“We shall discuss about the security measures for the Queen, we cannot let her escape, if she does, she will be executed immediately, if she gets away while still pregnant, we will have to be more careful… please discuss.”
The Head of Royal Security and Army stood up and stated. “This should be an easy fix since we have the manpower to strengthen the security measures around the palace and the Queen's chambers will be significantly reinforced. Additional guards will be stationed, and access will be strictly limited to approved personnel. We can even spare extra man patrolling the streets of Eugola, looking out for anyone suspicious.”
The King shifted in his seat and nodded towards the Head of Security who sat back down. Loch looked around “Now the most important discussion, if the twins will be gifted, we will need an education plan for their full development.
The council members shared their perspectives on how best to nurture the twin’s talents while ensuring they remained motivated and engaged. Suggestions included personalised curriculum plans, advanced placement classes, and mentorship opportunities with professionals in the Iridium field.
Throughout the meeting, the council members engaged in spirited discussions, sharing their expertise, and brainstorming various strategies to support these gifted children. They emphasised the significance of providing a supportive and stimulating environment while ensuring a well-rounded education that caters to their unique interests.
As the meeting concluded, the council agreed to work collaboratively the heirs' educators to create the perfect plan that would maximise their potentials. They also decided to establish regular progress review meetings to ensure continuous assessment and adjustment of the strategies implemented.
The council meeting about these gifted children concluded on a positive note, demonstrating the commitment of the counsellors to provide the necessary resources and support to nurture these children's talents while addressing their unique needs and challenges.
The counsellor closest to the King’s seat spoke first “Your Majesty, may I inquire about the nature of their abilities? Understanding their strengths and limitations will help us determine the level of protection required.”
Loch didn’t move just glanced at the man “We can’t be certain until they are born but considering the power the Tress research conducted the children may possess a wide range of abilities, including telekinesis, telepathy, and manipulation of elements. The findings have shown great potential, and we hope their powers will grow rapidly as they mature. It is essential that we keep their powers hidden from those who might seek to exploit or harm them, even if this means isolating them. I haven’t gotten a report on Reena using her powers yet, there might be a chance the children will be as useless their mother… We need to be prepared for any possibility.”
Another counsellor raised his hand when Loch nodded at him, he stood up “Your Majesty, should we inform the children of their unique abilities and the dangers that come with them? In my humble opinion I think we should warn them before they fallen in a trap from Cera, LaSei… or God forbid Gour.”
Loch interrupted him “Gour is not a threat, since the Tess family is in our grasp, they won’t be able to do anything… Even if they die, we have no obligation to inform them, without the Tress family's offensive power they wouldn’t be able to do anything anyway. They are not even worth mentioning. As for the children It is not prudent to keep them in the dark about their abilities, but we must approach this matter delicately. We should select a counsellor or mentor who can guide and educate them about their powers while emphasising the need for caution and secrecy. This person should also be responsible for monitoring their progress and reporting back to myself and the council.” Loch stood up “These gifted children are the hope for our kingdom's future. Let us implement these necessary precautions to protect them, nurture their abilities, and guide them towards using their powers for the greater good of our realm. Their safety rests in our hands, and we shall not fail them.” All of the counsellors stood and bowed. They repeatedly said “Long live the King” in unison. Loch’s face didn’t show any emotions he just turned on his heel and left the council chamber.

After months had passed, autumn has dressed herself for the coming season, as the time turned into the winter the sunrays somehow became colder in those icier days. The winter sun brought out the purity of the heaven-given snow, as if were a blank page for Eugola. Reena gazed at her children, the twins were prematurely born, delaying her plans of escape. The security became much stronger around the castle and her floor as well. The time when Reena was in labour Morag and Leena had passed away, she was still grieving, but without inheriting the powers from her mother she wouldn’t have survived. She lost a lot of blood, and she was on her deathbed while the midwife was waiting for the afterbirth. The moment Reena was ready to give up something moved inside her, her heart started beating faster and faster, when she felt her power awakening, wasn’t sure what happened and why is this happening her, but suddenly she felt a wave of warmth going through her slowly healing her wounds. Her paleness disappeared from her face, and she felt more energetic than any time in the past year.
Reena should’ve taken some time to explore her powers, experiment with them but being a new mother occupied her time. Since Loch found out that the twins do not possess any powers, he lost interest entirely in them, the security was reduced gradually, and Reena seemed to be well adjusted to her new life. She hasn’t given up on escaping, and was planning it thoroughly. Noy decided to stay behind, and be an informant for Gour, her daughter Melan was growing nicely, and she was one of the more talented martial artists in her age group. Khanna given birth to a son who she named Rogan. Rogan couldn’t wait to meet with the twins. Reena named the two girls Lana and Ramona.
